One of the best vacuums out there!
This is my second Miele C3 Marin Blue that I have purchased within 5 years. The first was given to a relative and is still going strong. The best feature is the auto-suction setting that automatically adjusts the vacuum suction power to the type of surface you are cleaning. If it's lightweight, such as drapes, it reduces the suction flow. If you're cleaning upholstery, it adjusts to just the right suction. The included powerhead is one of the most powerful that I have used and has 5 carpet settings to take care of anything from low pile to a high shag. Changing the bags is extremely easy and what I like about the Miele vacuum bags is they include a cap that can be closed when you remove the bag so no dust flies out.The attachments include a dusting brush, crevice tool, upholstery brush and a wide hardwood floor cleaner. Each of these performs well and are easy to attach. The only downfall is the extendable wand that connects the handle and the vacuum powerhead is a little on the heavy side which might make using the wand for high surfaces a little challenging. Miele does sell a lightweight aluminum extension wand without the electrical connection which is a great alternative. Other than that, this is vacuum is pretty much perfection.

Strong but defective vacuum
Powerful, quiet, versatile. Probably will not use the large beater brush head a lot but it will get some use down in our rec room where we have an old nylon rug that could use a deep cleaning. Upstairs where we have mostly laminate and area rugs I don't use that attachment. I tried the parquet twister on the floors and that's fine but I have so many low pile area rugs that are difficult to vacuum with that attachment that I ended up ordering another attachment that has a retractable brush that I can use on all of my laminate and area rugs without issue. The extra attachment was overpriced I thought but it works pretty well and except for the fact that it's kind of flimsy, there isn't much to it and it comes off of the extension on the hose when I try to use it under something, it's fairly easy to vacuum with. Would I buy the Miele C3 Kona again? Yes, in a heartbeat. One other plus is that the vacuum itself is light enough I can easily transport it downstairs if I need to as well as bring it back up the stairs. I do still use my shark stick vacuum for quick clean ups in between my weekly deep cleaning with the Miele. By the way, the upholstery attachment is amazing. I don't think my furniture has ever been this clean! PROBLEM CAME UP AFTER A FEW MONTHS: Discovered the dust bag full light did not work & result was a dust bag "blew up" inside the vacuum, somehow the bag holder was damaged & I had to order a replacement for it. Still, in new bags the round blue seal DOES NOT stay shut so I am having to keep the hose attached to the vacuum all the time now for fear dust will get blown all over my house. Complicates storage. I now wish I had never purchased it. A whole lotta money for a defective product.

Brush head no longer works
UPDATE: When it worked, it was amazing. One year and 2 months later, now the fancy brush head won’t work. It’s $315 for a replacement. NO vacuum repair place near me will repair it since it was purchased on Amazon. DO NOT BUY THIS ON AMAZON. Only buy locally, as that’s what all the repair shops will honor for warranty repairs.I’ve used this for four months now. This thing is freaking amazing. My hard floors are cleaner than they have ever been! I always have very dirty floors from having a dog, cat, dirt tracked in from my barn, and dirt from living on a dry desert dirt road. This vacuum picks up everything. It feels like I mopped the floor after I vacuum: no grit or fine dirt dust left on the floor. When I mop after vacuuming, the water/soap bucket has no dirt in it like it had contained for years. I have always bought Hoover uprights. They don’t compare at all to the suction and cleaning power that this vacuum has. I find the attachments a little hard to get on and off the pole/hose, but I’m getting much better at it. I like the onboard storage for tools, very handy and the tools don’t fall off like the old Hoover upright. The small tools are standard, can’t vacuum up my cat’s super fine and long hair off furniture or cat tower. No tools ever have, this wasn’t a big surprise to me. The tools work well for shelve dusting, baseboards, leather couch crevices and such. I found the printed instruction manual too general, not specific to this model. I had go online to figure out how to reset brush rollers after sucking up a carpet. I made notations in useless manual for easier future reference. In reading other peoples’ low reviews, they stated that there was an issue with the floor brush roller shorting out. I haven’t found this to be true, as when you have the pole up right it shuts off the brush motors so that it can sit there and rest “off” while you’re moving furniture or whatever. None of that is a dealbreaker, as this vacuum cleans my floors and carpeting better than ever been cleaned before. And I don’t want to forget to add that this vacuum is SO QUIET that my 10-year-old cat (who has been terrified of vacuums his whole life) doesn’t even leave the room now when I’m vacuuming. Easy to maneuver brush roller floor attachment, it’s a back and shoulder saver for this senior gal. I have tipped canister over on carpeting, but I’ve never had a canister that follows behind me. It takes getting used to moving it out of the way instead of stumbling over it. LoL. I hope their quality stands the test of time, I would replace again with same quality vacuum in future. I would absolutely recommend this vacuum to anybody who wants genuinely clean floors.
