Very nice!
This author has managed what many aspire to, but few ever achieve; he has written a book that is rich in technical detail yet is never tedious or boring. The photos illustrating each step and every tool are a tremendous help.In the back of the book are several websites you can copy and paste into a browser. They aren't linked, as this book wasn't originally an ebook (see below). I checked them out, they are good shops. I'd also add that there are several how-to videos on YouTube on how to build your own sewing frame. If you are making your own books, you are probably handy enough to make your own frame out of wood. BTW, they are ridiculously expensive to purchase, the real wood (i.e., not particle board) ones start at $250. I estimate it costing $50 in materials and 2 to 3 hours of time, depending which kind you make and what power tools you have on hand. Not counting staining, varnishing, etc.The only drawback to this book is that it was published as a physical book first, then scanned. How can I tell? All the "text blocks" are in the same photo as the other photos, there is no table of contents, and the typeface cannot be adjusted by the Kindle app.Let's call it a single star off for being scanned in because it has earned those other 9 stars!πππππππππEnjoyable for all ages!

Good info; minor formatting issues
Well presented; easily understood. Most of this info can of course be found online, but not necessarily all in one place. This book is a solid beginning for the new book-binding hobbiest. The ebook has a couple of places where a photograph blocks or partially blocks text (using a 10" Kindle display).

Kindle edition12/04/21 purchase is exemplary
I first borrowed this with Kindle Unlimited as I wanted basic instructions for bookbinding that I could adapt for my fifth-graders. I essentially wanted to see different methods a bookbinder would go about assembling a signature. I extremely pleased to see a comprehensive book that detailed equipment (as little or as much as one might like), step-by-step instructions for a few different methods of sewing signatures as well as bindings, including cloth binding--and how to inexpensively one's own cloth for binding (bookbinder's cloth can be expensive, especially for a teacher). The color photos are extremely helpful and clear (I do wish, though that Amazon would allow the reader to 'click' onto pictures to enlarge them, though this is true of ALL kindle books with pictures). The print was perfect for me (and, as with all kindle books, adjustable with the 'pinch'--or the opposite--of a couple of fingers).I was so pleased with this book that I immediately went back and puchased the Kindle edition so that I can keep it in my library for future use.

Great book! Exactly what I hoped!
This book is little, and perfect for info I wanted! It has all the techniques I want for making my own leather stitch bound journal. I've been eyeing these made by a local artist that are $200-$300+ each. My spouse is an art major and so has much of the supplies already. I just needed some instructions on how to make what I have seen and this book covers all I needed. I'm so excited because I plan on making journals for several family members besides one or two for myself. I'm waiting on leather samples from Hollanders, was glad to see them listed in this book under resources. I'll try to update with a photo after I complete one.

really enjoyed the book
I am extremely dyslexic and the text and photos were organized in such a way that made the reading process easy for me . This book covers several binding techniques for the beginner this book is a good place to start

Not bad, but could be better...
This is pretty good book for a beginner. The cover makes it seem like it is more than it is, however. It's a small book, the cover only 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches and the book is only 7/8 inch thick (126 pages). The photos are small and all black & white so they are hard to see detail. I recommend get this on Kindle instead of print version so you can zoom in.

Too bad the publisher decided to cut corners when printing this book
Excellent reference book for many binding techniques. I gave it four, rather than five, stars because the book itself is rather cheaply printed with difficult to see faded looking black and white illustrations.
