I've been searching for a shower water filter and this one was great. I felt a real difference in the water quality and my skin is no longer dry or itchy. Easy to install; doesn't impact water pressure. A good find.

This saved my hair and my skin. The city water here is highly chlorinated. It was so bad, my hair smelled like a swimming pool 24/7. I'm not even kidding when I say, the first time I showered with this filter, my hair and skin instantly improved. I can tell when the filter needs changed when my skin starts getting dried and my hair starts getting straw-like. The filters last about 11-12 months just as advertised.It was super easy to install. Literally just screw it in. I used some plumber tape on the thread to prevent leakage and it works perfectly. I've been using the same unit for 1 1/2 years. I'm on my second filter and I'm super happy with it. Wish I bought it sooner.

Since moving to durham north carolina about 15 years ago I have developed a weird skin condition. If I take a 2-10 min shower, once I get out and dry off I have about 10-15 min before my entire body will itch like crazy all over. Ive tried lotions and diet changes and all sorts of different soaps nothing fixed the problem other than taking a 15-20 min HOT shower. Not wanting to use so much water and time I decided to look into a shower filter to see if it would help with this issue. In researching the filters I found a lot of people were saying that the chlorine in the water is what gave people dry skin.. which made me think that if that was the cause of my dry skin maybe it was the cause of the itching. So I found this product and it wasnt too expensive and people all claimed it worked but Ive been showering with it for a few days and now even after a 20 min shower I am itching! Its actually proven detrimental to my situation! I would not recommend you buy this unless your tap water smells like a pool at your local high school.

I purchased this because I had a smaller version of this brand before that had an estimate of 6 months before the need to change, during the change I broke the housing so I had to replace it and decided to upgrade to this larger one that is meant to last 12 months. Installation is easy.Just disconnected it from the spout, applied Teflon tape by wrapping it around 4 times on the pipe itself, screwed this onto the pipe, then applied Teflon tape to the spout then finally screwed the shower head mount onto the filter.The key thing to be aware of is that you want to rotate the Teflon tape to the right (clockwise) and go around 3 to 4 times so it's snug. Then hand tightening it so you don't crack the housing of it.The water flow is rated at 2.5 gallons a minute and it's the same as my shower head. So unless you have a shower head that reduces the pressure and flow you shouldn't have any issues with this reducing the flow. After installing it you want to run hot as can be water through it for a couple minutes before taking an actual shower.Up here in the NE water is hard and dries out the skin and hair. My gf colours her hair bright colours and these types of filters help our skin and hair from being really dry after, plus it helps preserve her hair colouring. The functionality of it works as intended and helps with our showers.Definitely worth getting if your water is hard and dries your skin and hair out.PSA I used a Teflon tape called blue monster. You can find it on Amazon or home Depot for about $3.

Cuts the water pressure down considerably

Do not over tighten! You will break housing. Girlie tight, turn on water and finish tightening until no leaks. This product works great!!! No more super itchy skin from to many chems in water.

I purchased this because my wife and I were having problems with our city water' chlorination. Since using it my wife says she is not losing as much hair, and our scalps seem to be feeling better with less itching. Also, occasionally the city will up the chlorine for a period of time as a safety measure, and I will be this will be a great item when that happens.
