Great upgrade.
Love the way they look. Significant improvement to light on the road. I choose these to keep the retro type look to the FJ. I’ve had it for about 5 years now, it’s about time I made some of these mods.Has DRL, lo and high beam. It looks like that’s just a change in the shutter positions to let more light out.I have my DRL unplugged so I tapped into the parking lights for my LED power. I used these 2in-2out wire connectors. I chose to do it close to the light. Figured it would be easier to add a plug back on than to splice wire if I ever take it off or replace them.

Amazing!!!
These replacement headlights sets are sooo bright and wonderful out here in the country where deer are everywhere and the road are not lit for miles and miles!!!!! I couldn't be happier with these for my Toyota FJ Crusier!!!!!!!! Love them!!! The price is well worth it, fast shipping, excellent NIB!!!!!! Easy to install!!!!!! They jazz up the look as well with the O block design (GO BUCKEYES!!)

Installation needed extra help.
This headlight looks good once installed. It needs instructions on how to connect the halo lights. Here we go:The package has connector that connects to existing headlight connector plus two wires, one black and the other red.Connect red line to hot wire (mine was green line) for the turn signal light and black line to neutral line (center wire).Plus, center light is only for the high beam. This unit uses the halo light as low beam and center light as high beam. So, when you turn on daytime driving light, it turns on halo light. When you turn on headlight, it turns on center light (high beam). When you turn on high beam, only halo light is on and center light turns off.Hope this instructions help next buyer. From one FJ lover to another FJ lover!

Much better than I expected
I was planning to get the Freedom retrofit, but their prices were too high, and the wait time was about four months. Instead, I bought these lights, and they turned out surprisingly good. These lights are made in Taiwan, and the quality is much better than the parts made in China. The fitment is just like OEM, but the plastic is a bit softer compared to OEM. The installation was easy, and it took me around 30 minutes to install from hood open to hood close since I have worked on the front facia before. I replaced AmeriLite's halogen H9 bulbs with LED bulbs and did not connect the halo ring for now, but maybe I will run them later. These lights provide a clean cut-off, so I don't blind incoming traffic with the LED bulb. I only wish they spread a bit wider, like 10 degrees more on each side. I applied Lamin-x film for UV protection. Let's see how long they will last since they only cost 1/4 of what Freedom retrofit charges (Freedom uses OEM housing and Mishimoto light units???) ***March 2023 update, The Halo lights have been wired up for a year now, and so far, I have not experienced any flickering or dimming units. Hopefully, it will continue to work without any issues (knock on wood).

Great FJ cruiser upgrade
Upgraded my FJ cruiser headlights. These have the brightness I was looking for and are better looking than the stock headlamps. I had also purchased LED bulbs with the intent on trying to make these headlights even better, however I don't think I'll have to switch. These arrived a week ahead of the planned delivery time, and are a direct fit (plug and play) replacement with the exception of connecting the HALO wires. I looked up how to connect those on YouTube. After watching a video, it literally took five minutes.

No high beam
High beam function does not work in either light. They also use a diode to try to isolate the low/high feed from the vehicle and according to my heat gun the diode is heating up to about 260 degrees. Something is not designed or wired correctly.UPDATE - customer service was great and sent a new set of lights, however they have the exact same problem. My guess is that they did not take into account the changes to the headlight circuit when Toyota omitted the daylight running lamps and the result is that the lights only work for certain years. When I turn on the low beams, the high beam in the light is activated. When I turn on the high beams, the lights turn off. Amerilite is sticking to the excuse that the problem is with my vehicle, yet they can't explain why my factory lights work just fine and why theirs don't work. Reading through the reviews shows that I am NOT the only person who has issues with the lights. It would be great if Amerilite would try to actually diagnose the issue instead of ignoring the flaw and writing it off as a problem with my vehicle.
