Worth the extra cost!
These were recommended by my new coffee maker, and I do think they’re superior to the normal filters.

Solid! Classic.
These are great, Kalita is great. I use these at work for a Kalita Wave, and then at home for a December Dripper (Blue Bottle). Works great for both! They are pretty thick filters, but that is intentional. You will have a lighter bodied coffee when using these vs. v60 or a standard coffee filter.

They FIT! It's lovely.
I waited FOREVER (2.5 months) for these to come in the mail. But when they came... is was revelatory. I had been using the cheap Target brand filters and they just didn't fit my Kalita well, and occasionally I would get sloppy with the pourover and the filter would flop and the grounds would go in my drink.... it's just such a nicer experience using the wave filters. It really is. I wasn't sure it would make a difference--and perhaps it is just an aesthetic difference--but my morning seems so much more put together using a filter that FITS. I'm not a coffee snob, I just like the elegance of the whole pourover system and how little there is to clean, compared to using my french press when I'm just making coffee for myself.

Solid filters that work really well
These have a solid feeling to them. A bit thicker than your standard coffee filter. They've been great with my Kalita Wave. Fit perfectly and have helped produce a solid cup every time. Be sure to wet them first if you're doing a pour over. Not much in the way of a papery taste, but better to be safe. They are a bit difficult to pull apart. I usually take one of the stacks (there are three separate parts in the bag) and remove the bottom one so I disturb the folding as little as possible.

A bit of hassle to achieve best results, but coffee is OUTSTANDING!
Second edit! I found workarounds to my issues, but it means I'm using two filters PLUS cutout filter barriers to two of the three holes to slow down the passage of water.PROS: If you take the trouble, as I do, to preheat your mug, allow your freshly ground beans to "bloom" after the first pour, and then slow down the passage of subsequent water through the glass filter, you end up with a FABULOUS mug of coffee. Good thing, too, because Melitta doesn't sell a product in U.S. any more for one person to make a single pourover cup or mug for one person. Also, I found no French Press solutions for making one large mug of coffee (mine is 18-20 oz.) Amazon only has 12 ounce and 32 ounce French Press options. I now use my Kalita every day!CONS: If you use only one filter, the water passes through so fast that it doesn't have time to fully extract the flavor in your freshly ground beans. You have to take some trouble to get the best results, but it's absolutely worth it. My process: Preheat mug and prerinse the filter paper, discarding the first pour of water to avoid a very slight paper taste, if it is noticeable to you, Also, using two filters per mug of coffee is more expensive, and I even block two of the three holes to slow the process down, but it's worth it for fabulous results. Since Melitta only sells automatic coffee makers or a large ceramic set in the U.S. now, the top alternative for great coffee would be the old reliable Bodum Chambord 8 Cup French Press Coffee Maker, 34 oz., Chrome method, only available in 12 or 34 ounce sizes.BOTTOM LINE: At first I thought it was too much time and trouble but the routine's easy, the glass filter's pretty (and not plastic), and I'm hooked on using it every day now for a 20 ounce mug of FABULOUS coffee.

They make a great cup of coffee but they do take a long ...
These are the real filters, many knock offs out there. These are thick, firm and very slow dripping. They make a great cup of coffee but they do take a long time. I mistakenly ordered a knock off that was thin and dripped twice as fast or faster. It makes a decent cup of coffee but not quite as good. If you want a faster cup buy the knock offs. These do take a long time to get to you, about 10 days when i ordered but it said it could take longer. Just buy well ahead of when your going to run out.
