Perfect for my 4 y/o niece
I love this tracing book- what I didn’t notice, but really appreciate it, is that after the first part of the pages featuring only the alphabet, (which has a picture and the corresponding word below it), the second part has a tracing lesson using the words shown earlier. So it isn’t just learning the draw the letters well, but also a lesson in spelling- and a great practice for switching from one letter to another- and technically, a memory prompter too! I followed the advice of another reviewer and cut out the pages, put them in clear sheet covers, and then put them in a binder so they could be reused over and over again with a dry-erase marker. Just be clear that while they are “washable” off the plastic, dry erase markers aren’t true washable for any other project (like your kids clothing).

Great way to teach young kids how to write their letters
I ended up purchasing 3 books and used it with each of my kids. I really enjoyed the format which included lots of repitition and tracing. Most tetter practice books IMHO do not have enough tracing practice and require the child to write the letter on their own after only a few times. This book has 2 pages of tracing per letter. Then each letter has a corresponding word (like apple for the letter A). The word portion has a few tracing lines and a few blank lines so the child can try to write the letters of the word on their own.

Awesome!!
I purchased this for my son to practice his letters, numbers and writing. It was the best thing that I could have done for him. (I purchased the numbers book as well.) I allow my son to work on 1-2 letters a day and as we move on we review what we learned the previous day. When I tell you, this book has given my son so much confidence! It makes me happy to see that he actually enjoys practicing with this book.Tip:I had my husband carefully tear the pages out of the book (you do not need any special scissors, the pages rip out just fine, you just have to be careful) while I inserted the pages into a binder filled with sheet protectors. I think I used just under 200 sheet protectors for both books.

Great Handwriting Practice
After reading previous reviews, I went ahead and tore the pages out and put them in page protectors so that my 3 year old could use them over and over with dry erase markers. This worked out great! He has a small binder with all of the pages, and he can pick which letters he wants to practice each day, then I can wipe off the pages and he can use them again. I like that there are lots of letters for him to trace. A lot of other books I have seen only have 3 or 4 letters to trace, then blank lines for them to write on their own. I like this because he is so early in his handwriting, so having an abundance of tracing letters is more important to me than having blank lines for his to write on.

Just What She Needs to get her started
I love this book. I hope my 4 year old likes it as well. Other people who bought this book slides the paper in a plastic paper cover, it's exactly what I am going to do. She will definitely want to write on it if she gets to use a marker. You almost have to get plastic paper covers, how else would you PRACTICE if you've written all over it. She's new at this, so we will have plenty mistakes. This book was priced perfect, it should be affordable to teach your children simple lessons like this. It goes from single letters to words small and large. It's a wonderful gift to give OUR CHILDREN my friends. Get yourself some plastic paper covers and make mistakes. Have fun and learn while doing it. Peace

Learning book
My daughter loves coming home to work on her book, even though she goes to school all day she still enjoys working on it at home.

Great for your kid if they like to trace, don't use markers
This was a well-priced book for my 4-year old who enjoys tracing letters. That's the key, your kid has to like using it for it to be beneficial to them. I wish the pages in the book where single-sided because toddlers get really upset when you use a marker and it bleeds through on the other side of the page. It would be very cool if they had a cursive version of this on thicker paper that didn't bleed or one-sided pages.
