HEXBUG Nano V2 Hurricane

This was all my 4-year old son wanted from Santa and WOW did the big guy deliver! What a fun toy!! We are already adding extra sets to it and looking for great deals on Hexbug v2 Climbing bugs... (TIP: you can buy VERY low cost Hexbug batteries in bulk here on Amazon.)

The whole Hexbug system is really cute. Kids love to watch the bugs scurry about. My cons are as follows: Bugs are pricey, easy to loose, and they require those small batteries that you have to take a special trip for. The bugs do get stuck inside the tracks and you have to shake them out. The connector joints are hard to take apart (you have to squeeze opposing sides) and kids asks for help constantly. The toy gets boring pretty quick and you realize you need a couple of kits to let kids create there own and build to make it last. You need to buy the special vertical climbing bugs that are more expensive.

My niece enjoyed it. The hexbugs with this set are specific to the set. Normal hexbugs will not crawl up the tubes. I give it four stars because the bugs get easily stuck.

When I read in a USA Today review of hot new toys- I was thrilled there was a new type of hexbug. My nephew loves his previous ones- but since these climb- I am positive he will be very excited to get the brand new version for his birthday coming up. And his mom should be equally thrilled because his dad is getting another Nano V2 set so they can have several climbing "critters" in the house:)

The media could not be loaded. Terrible. The idea is so cool; the execution is awful. The components are so cheaply made that the tubes are sigtly warped. This causes several places which are too tight for the bugs to pass. In addition, many of the connectors are not flush, so the bugs also get hung up at the joints. We tried tapping and wiggling to "help" the bug through. No luck. We ended up having to disconnect the track each time (which is somewhat difficult and made me fear I would break the track) in order to remove the bugs or push them along. I Wish I had read other reviews first.

I should have read the reviews. I bought two of these. Only 2 bugs work (the white and olive ones). The others do not climb and the product is poorly made. I had to duct tape it to keep it together. I finally combined the two I had to create a different design. I was extremely disappointed and if I still had the box, I would ship it back. I was hoping for a fun, educational game, instead it was a waste of money. If you want it to stick, hot glue various parts; not all because when the bugs become stuck, you have to have a way in to get them out.

The hexbug Hurricane Set is a great toy. It fascinate all ages. I would highly recommend this toy. It was originally for my grandson but many were interested in this toy. Thank you.

Entertaining at first. Great when it works. But the bugs frequently don't right themselves when they are on their side. And the connectors are such that the bugs often get stuck climbing, inside the various tubes, so one is constantly tapping the set to get them to continue. The result is that little kids get tired and move on, thus the price is pretty high when compared to the time the kids play with it. And the reality is that there are not enough pieces in one set to be able to make different circuits.

Unsere beiden Jungs, 9 und 6 Jahre spielen sehr gerne damit. Jeder hat seine eigenen Hexbug und lässt diese fahren. Auch der Trichter und die Röhren funktionieren. Ab und zu bleibt mal eine stecken, die kann aber leicht wieder rausgefischt werden.Sogar eine unserer Katzen findet es spannend, wenn die Hexbug umher flitzen und versucht sie zu fangen, ganz amüsant.

Lo compré para mi hijo de 11 años y tiene muchísimo exito. Se pasa el día cambiando los circuitos, haciendo batallas de ex-bugs, etc.

A good versatile toy - it encourages interaction and creativity as you can vary the loops. Our little boy (nearly 6) plays with it by himself and also with his friends. Needs a little adult help clipping some pieces together as the way it clips together is quite sturdy and requires a little force - this is a good thing as it holds together well. Probably worth buying an extra hexbug, we've had a lot of fun racing them.

A few plastic molding related niggles. Otherwise excellent product
