Perfect for invalid
I installed this for a relative proceeding into dementia. She has had no problem understanding the single valve water cutoff and having a preset temperature is perfect. Being able to easily shut off the water and then turn it back on at the same temperature is a boon.Installation was a challenge. I missed the instruction about cutting the adapters to length which had me confused for a while. And it is a minor challenge to install in a standard 2x4 stud wall. I initially framed in a flat 2x4 to screw drop-ear-elbows to, but the adapters could not be cut off enough. I pryed out the 2x4 and glued and screwed in a piece of 3/4" plywood flat with the opposing wall. Cutting off the adapters a little shorter than their minimum cutoff line came out just right (this was with an acrylic shower with walls flush with the studs - if you're using thicker shower walls like tile you'll have more latitude.)I'd add that using the drop-ear-elbows gives the valve system enough rigidity that it's working for us somewhat as a grab bar.I had to circle back at least once to eliminate leaks from the teflon taped adapters. Permatex #80632 thread sealant solved the problem. Small tubes of similar compound are available here.I gave marginal marks for ease of installation, but the main problem was in wrapping my head around the german engineering approach and working out a few details. The nuts and bolts of the install were not particularly difficult after figuring it out.

Very nice valve indeed - you do need to be quite handy to replace an old USA valve
Replaced an old single-handle Moen valve in a stall shower with this. Needed to do quite a bit of carpentry to make it work. The plumbing part was easy, however, because of Pex and Sharkbite fittings. The valve works very well. See pictures. No stars removed because of the extra work, as I knew going in what was needed.Update: Very pleased with this valve. MUCH easier to regulate temperature than the single-handle valves I've seen, which are much more common in the US. Definitely worth the work to install it.It's easy to reset the temperature where the "stop" is; just remove the knob - first take out the chromed insert and remove the screw - and rotate the valve stem until the temperature suits you. Then replace the knob without moving the valve stem. You can always press the button and rotate the knob to make it hotter. Remove the red insert inside the knob if you want it still hotter when you press the button to go past the stop.Similarly, the flow control stop point can be adjusted by removing the flow knob (the right-hand knob) and replacing it in a different position. It will shut-off "off-center" but this is not a bother to any of us here. Pressing the button and turning the knob further increases the flow to the maximum, no matter where you replace the knob.

leaky and defective
Not sure how this should be written. We purchased this Shower Valve because my son has it and loves it. When we visit him we love it. We ordered it and our contractor installed it as per all instructions, even consulting with a Master plumber. It was all lined up but when we pressurized it it leaked all over the place. We tried everything, different sealants, etc. Nothing helped. This part - the brass connector behind the unit and the gaskets - all defective. We believe it is just this unit. We have ordered another unit and amazon has graciously credited our account. We'll let you know with the next unit

Works and makes noise
Works as it should.I had a similar unit from another manufacturer installed and that one worked for 6 years. So installing the Grohe unit was no problem.I am happy with it.I also like the information that came with the unit, it identifies the internal parts of the unit so in the future, when needed, you can repair the unit. I hope Grohe will sell the internal parts, I have not checked that. Grohe can perhaps let us know?Sometimes the unit makes a noise, might be air in the unit, will see if it goes away in time.If you want this type of faucet I can recommend this one.

Tricky RV install showing photos.
I had posted questions about installation so I decided to show how it worked out. This is on a stainless panel in a RV. Pictures show support from behind the wall. I used a 3/4” nut from Lowes to help tighten. Made 1” holes in the stainless and pulled tight from the back with the 3/4” nut. Last picture is view from directly above. A little confusing but good information. The large nut on the faucet is directly against the stainless.

Static temperature
The separate temperature and pressure controls are great. We especially appreciate that it can't scald as max temp is listed as 110°F, which is at the edge of too hot. Feels just right (for us).

They turn very easily. I love that it regulates the temperature better ...
I was a little concerned that the handles were going to be difficult to turn with soapy arthritic hands- I shouldn't have worried. They turn very easily. I love that it regulates the temperature better than any other non-scald faucet we've ever had. The pre-set stop at 100 degrees is great, and it's easy to manipulate the override for the temperature if you need it warmer. External (or exposed) shower mixers from reputable companies that meet U.S. plumbing standards are not easy to come by (which you already know, if you are looking at this review); this one is a winner!
