Q: Is the clock made of metal or plastic?

The clock is made of metal. It’s just like the vintage type.

Q: It says the clock has Nightlight Backlight - is it always on or can it be turned off? We don't want any light to come off the clock at night.

The backlight only turns on if you press a button at the back. It's not even a true backlight, but a little bulb that's behind the face near the "10" on the clock. I never really use it.

Q: I understand how to set the alarm, but when i set the time the hands just don't move. It has been stuck at 4:30 all day. Am i doing something wrong?

I don't think so. My hour did not move. Into the trash

Replace AA battery behind the clock. Eay to find that.
