Lexham English Septuagint: A New Translation

Beautiful book. Print is a little grey for my liking, but I find that a common feature with this kind of book.This one thankfully had a sewn binding. Personally, I'm really glad I got this version, rather than one of the others, as it's the only complete direct translation in contemporary English. The other translations are by all accounts reworkings of other texts and a little 'lumpy' because of it. Has pride of place next to my KJV.

Really pleased, if you are looking to buy this you already know the content which i found easy to read, with very clear printing on thin but good paper (not the crinkly ultra this paper you sometimes get). The hard back is strong, its made from a hard board material. I have really enjoyed the differences in wording to the more "traditional" translations, well to be honest fascinated by them. The book has given me a more in depth understanding of scripture and more importantly its translation. Hope you enjoy it too

This LEB Septuagint is the only real translation from the actual Greek. I recommend it. Its not perfect, and for a good rundown, there are a couple YouTube videos that go through the edition and break it down, but the quality of the printing is well done, though the paper is tissue-paper thin. Not a problem, but if ghosting is a huge deal for you, you might have issues here - though I'd only say if you're over-the-top picky about it.The binding is well done - smyth sewed and ready for a lot of wear and tear. The other thing I like is that its not completely covered over with footnotes and cross references - that tires the eye after awhile. The absence of all that makes this edition much more enjoyable to read.

Simply a great work. The price is reasonable

On arrival I was very impressed with this Book. The Package was v good: it arrived on time and in excellent condition. It has a strong book cover & good printing on thin paper which I found easy when moving through the book. I enjoyed having two Septuagint translations of the O.T. & loved the difference this translation offered. I ended up running to this one first as it became a favorite translation. I can only highly recommend this book to all scholars who wish to find an alternative to the KJV & MS text.

I purchased the Lexham English Septuagint, because I don't know Greek, and I wanted a good English version. I've been studying the Letter to the Hebrews for a while now, and I'm learning that the author relied upon the Septuagint as his text when he wrote the letter ( which is more of a sermon than a letter, lol). For this reason particularly, I thought it would be good to have a Septuagint on hand. But beyond that, as it is the text of the very early Church, I thought it would be good to read it. I purchased the hard cover. It isn't a glued binding, as someone else has said. It's a stitched binding, and it's solid. The print is on the larger side of small print, still very readable for my old eyes. There's a generous margin for notes and marks. I'm very happy with this purchase!
