Can the large percolator be put over fire to boil contents?

We sat the percolator on an open gas flame until the coffee was ready. Worked out just fine.

Does the coffee pot include the coffee strainer/basket inside?

The set includes strainer/basket. Great set, we use it in our A frame trailer on extended trips.

Images show 2 different pots...why?

I can’t speak to why they show two different pots. The one I received is the one with the knob not handle.
