Great tasting chestnuts
They are fresh and delicious in the jar. I have them refrigerated. You can warm them up for a few seconds in the microwave. Either way they taste very good.

Chestnut Stuffing
These were perfect for my chestnut stuffing! It’s nice that they are readily available through Amazon anytime of the year instead of just locally during the holidays.

Great product
Good product. Lasts a long time when stored in the refrigerator. Pricey but can't always find them locally.

Tasty…..But
Major disappointment, I chopped these up to put in my stuffing and was going to use the rest for chestnut soup. They turned green mold in less than a week even though they were stored in the fridge.$18 down the tubes, guess I won’t be buying them again. They were tasty. The company reached out to me and promptly sent a new jar. The issue was resolved in less than a week. How nice when a company stands behind its product and cares for its customers. More companies could take a que from them.

Big Plump, and Fresh!
These Chestnuts are exactly what I was hoping for. They came out of the jar in whole pieces, they were moist but not mushy, and were ready to go directly in to my stuffing. ( We had a goose) The flavor is very good, as was the texture. I will definitely purchase more, I especially like the fact they are in a sealed glass jar, and you can see exactly what you are getting. They also have a fairly long shelf-life, so that is another plus. I highly recommend them.

AN EXCELLENT SECOND CHOICE
When I roast a turkey there are some traditional ingredients for the stuffing one of which is chestnuts. For decades going back to the 1960s I have bought and roasted my own chestnuts, spent hours shelling them and removing all trace of the bitter skin inside the shell. Then, two years ago, the grocers at which I shop stopped carrying chestnuts so I turned to Amazon and found these Gourmanity chestnuts all roasted and peeled. Despite there being a chestnut farm less than 30 miles from where I sit now, I still can't get chestnuts locally. These Gourmanity chestnuts are a bit softer than those I roast myself but they have a delightful hint of sweetness. Coarsely chopped for the stuffing they are everything I would want to make a Thanksgiving meal the traditional taste I love.

Right out of the jar, they are cold and balmy in one's mouth!
I've never tasted chestnuts before so I really don't know how these are supposed to taste. I expected them to be similar to brazil nuts. But they actually are not! These have been roasted then boiled so that the consistency is a little mushy, not 'nut crunchy'. They do provide a nice smoked after taste that lingers a bit in the back of one’s throat and is quite nice. I will try different ways of serving them to see if the ‘mouth appeal’ can improve. Perhaps I will try re-roasting them to get some of the squishy moisture back out of them and have another go at trying them.
