Look up the instructions on the internet as you won't find them in the box. Searched on Micro:Bit Joystick. Be sure you have a Micro:Bit board so this will work. There is a tiny slider switch to turn this on and off. Runs on two AAA batteries that are not included. The battery box is connected to the circuit board so no wires are needed.The red and blue panels come with a thick tan protective paper that can be a challenge to get it off. This works with other Microbit Kits.Over all this is a good entry level way to teach basic autonomous systems and programing. Similar concepts for industry without having to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars only to find out you or your kids are just not that into robotics,

Great product! For those in the comments saying they got a wooden piece instead of acrylic or that it isn't "painted", the controller handles come with a protective plastic (brown color) to protect the acrylic, you have to remove this plastic!!!

This fits great and the buttons are all very useable.The edges of the handle pieces are a little rough and feel a little sharp, and I'd like it if the face buttons were better marked, but otherwise I think it's well made.The most important thing is to install the code extension and make sure you put in the setup block or your Microbit will freak out.

My grandson loved this. Easy to use. On time delivery.

The controller itself is amazing, super fun and easy to use. It allows you to make a bunch of different new games and programs that you wouldn't be able to without the controller, giving you even more use out of your micro:bit. The only issue was that it came unpainted on both sides.
