Great Dupe for the Logitech
Great dupe for an affordable price. I’ve been using it for two weeks already and it’s perfect. I’m bougie and wanted to make sure I had good equipment for my new job and it does the trick. It’s a major upgrade from a regular mouse and it has helped my wrist pain.

Best wired roller
Have used elecom mose daily for 5 years no issues. I did replace the roller bearings with rubies but that has no bearing "pun intended" on the overall quality which is great.

Good but some caveats if you're picky
I have always used Logitech trackball mice (thumb ball versions) but they are not as good as they used to be so I need to purchase some new models to see if they are adequate replacements. Recently got a Nulea M501 which is quite good. Decided to also get this Elecom EX-G to test as it was also reasonably priced. The Good - It's nicely shaped and my palm drapes over it comfortably. It's not too slippery so my hand stays in place. The buttons are positioned right beneath my fingers and are wide enough so I don't have to think about which button I'm pressing or have to move them slightly to get a good press. The additional 4th button is appreciated but you need the Elecom software to reprogram it (might be re-programmable with other software but I didn't try anything else.) The scroll wheel is typical and works well. Tilt is also good and stiff enough so that it's not accidentally invoked. The Not-So Good - There is a significant difference between high and low mouse speed so you need to make sure you experiment a lot with Windows' mouse settings, Elecom's settings and this button to get it dialed in. Takes a bit of work to do and more than I'd like. The Fwd/Back buttons are ever so slightly too far back and I have to bend my index finger back a bit more than I'd like to activate the back button but that's admittedly a me-problem. Your experience will likely differ. The trackball is smooth but still has a bit of jitteryness to it so the mouse pointer seems to jump noticeably as you move across the screen. Comparing to the Nulea, the Nulea moves smoother. Not sure if that's a driver issue or a mechanical one with the thumb ball in the casing just not being smooth. The Bad - The buttons are simple cantilevers of the top surface and extend over the actuators and are EXTREMELY easy to push meaning, if you like to rest your fingers on the buttons, you are going to activate them when you don't mean to. So, instead of your hand being at rest, it takes some thought and muscle to keep them from pushing down and that can get a bit fatiguing very quickly. This is particularly important in gaming where, if you're not careful, you will fire your gun, activate an item, click the wrong thing, etc. when you didn't mean to. So the buttons need to be way stiffer than they are. This is likely an ergo thing - making buttons easier to push to prevent repetitive stress - but these are way overboard and just too easy to push accidentally. So it's good but, for me, not the best. I prefer the Nulea M501 a bit more since I can rest my fingers on the buttons more comfortably without actuating them.

Surprisingly good for medium and smaller hands. Not so much for mine.
I wish they made this just a little bit bigger because other than the hand-feel, like my hand is hiding it from bandits, drooped over it so as not to crush it, I LOVE this mouse. The trackball position is perfect. The scroll buttons on the left are great. The dpi switch while not in an optimal place provides something special. You can feel with your palm where it is positioned. You start to remember. You can also quickly verify visually. Having a physical sliding dpi changer isn't something you know you wanted until you use it. The extra finger mouse button is just, perfect for binding mouse-look in games so you can quickly look around. It's not heavy but it's not light so it doesn't wander, but it's not hard to get it out of way quick to put down a pizza or drink. It feels quality. While the page buttons on the top near your pointer finger don't lend themselves to rocker style pressing without moving your finger, they do have positive click and feel very natural to use by curling your pointer finger and pressing them deliberately. This makes them better for precision actions in games like firing a secondary weapon or precisely dropping a bomb on a target. The scroll wheel has the most amazing left-right panning tilt I've ever seen on a trackball. Logitech could learn something here. instead of being completely useless because of hard switches like almost every single other device in existence, they are just compliant enough that you can actually use them for useful things in games that recognize them. If you are an elite dangerous player, this trackball would be perfect for left-right menu navigation binding. If you don't have a good hotas yet (rolls eyes). But if you have bigger hands, all this awesome still won't feel good because you feel like you are riding a childs bicycle. Or you accidentally bought the travel version. And it's just so frustrating because its not that far off. 4 or 5 more mm of base length and it might be perfect for big hands. It's still an outstanding device. Superior to even the MX Ergo I'm using again in many ways, but it doesn't feel good with my big paws. If you have the regular hands they designed this for, you'll love it.
