An amazing "paste". It has a very unique (and wonderful) flavor. I have used it as a sandwich spread, an addition in cooked sauces and an "on the side" condiment. I highly recommend it!

Very nice addition to stews, stir-frys, etc. Not quite as potent as you would hope for the price - you need to add quite a bit to alter the flavor profile of the dish, but the result is very good.

I was excited when I saw Umami Bomb and ordered it immediately. It seemed tailor-made for us; we love strong umami-rich flavors. We love and extensively use the individual ingredients of the paste. When it arrived, I first tried it in a cauliflower stew. It added a nasty, extremely unpleasant flavor that both of us hated. I had to fish out the cauliflower and add a can of tomatoes, wine, and garlic and cook that down before I was able to mask the Umami Bomb's nasty taste. The next time I proceeded more cautiously. I added a tiny amount to a sauce for fish. Again, it's flavor was very very unpleasant. I tried rubbing it on fish and I tried rubbing it on chicken; both were horrible. Finally, I tried putting it in hummus as the manufacturer recommends; it ruined the hummus. I gave up and threw the rest out.To put my remarks in context: I'm a professional food writer, recipe developer, and recipe tester. I tried so many different ways of using the Umami Bomb because I really really wanted to like it and write about it. Sadly, I couldn't do either.

This is so great. If you like big flavor, it's 1000x better than blah tomato paste. My only issue is that I could eat it by the spoonful, and it's a bit pricey for that :)But what a great booster for my recipes!

Good stuff only negative it only has 30 days once opened. I'll have to throw half a tube away.

Hard to find in local area. Thanks Amazon for carrying it. Love the depth of flavor it adds to pasta sauces and other stews.

I do love this product, but not at $12 a tube. For several years I've been purchasing 4 packs of $16-18, but for the last half year now that has been "unavailable"My primary use was to coat chuck roast before cooking (but after browning)... makes for some incredible beef stroganoff and other stews. Also tasty mixed with mayo for sandwiches... try it a bit mixed into miso soup

I love the flavors of this umami paste so much. It's kind of crazy expensive, but I have never tasted anything else like it, so I keep buying it.
