Over-priced but works well!
Wow! I was so reluctant to spend this kind of money but also so frustrated with the lack of consistent quality in my YouTube live streams using USB 3.0 capture cards (also Magewell) as well as an individual StarTech PCIe internal HDMI capture card (that was iffy with regards to compatibility with OBS and no compatibility with Google Hangouts or Skype!)This Magewell Pro Capture Quad HDMI seems to have a much better frame rate, with consistent video and audio quality and is recognized properly by OBS, Skype and Google Hangouts.I think it's priced way too high - not sure where you're supposed to find a replacement cooling fans when the one it has eventually fails. If the card was $400-$600, I think it would be a deal. For now, only those with deep pockets or a business to run should consider this card.

Very Stable
Plugged into my Thunder Flex 8, downloaded the OSX drivers and it worked flawlessly. As many have said, this is a very stable unit!

Durable and worth it
I bought this Magewell and bought other brands, the others got recked after 1 year of use while Magewell remains for 3 years so far, there is also more accurate signal from my cameras while using virtual studio and chroma compared to other brand, its pricey but worth it for professional work.

Freaking awesome.
This is a great unit. Best in class. Spend the extra cash. Only one thing, the software you can download from the manufacturer will not record each video feed separately. It mixes everything down to one video. I emailed Magewell about this and they said they had an internal use unsupported software that would work. They said they would email it and that was three weeks ago, so follow up support sucks. I still don’t have this software. I use this with OBS, but I also need it to capture each channel separately. This unit comes all by itself. No documentation. Nothing. Just the card. You then have to already know how to use it or hunt for info. Luckily I have and undergrad in computer engineering. I have 50 foot runs so I use an HDMI repeater as shown in the image.

Well Worth the Money and RELIABLE
I'm a big fan of these capture cards. I've tried Black Magic's version of these cards and they were riddled with bugs. These cards run for seven hours a day, 5 days a week in our studio and have held up strong for the past two years. In regards to the loud fan issue using Mac products, I'm happy to say Magewell remedied this issue with the release of their 12/09 drivers from their site. The card doesn't run at 100% fan speed anymore and is much quieter than ever. The old saying applies to this product "you get what you pay for." These cards are worth the price.

Unstable on Thunderbolt 3, Trying to Resolve is time heavy
Worked initially, then card stop being detected by Windows, very hard to troubleshoot and not a good investment. Maybe it is my thunderbolt 3 enclosure. Frustrating. Reached out to Magewell support twice, absolutely no reply.

I have 2 cards in one system...
I have purchased two of these from two different Amazon sellers. Both came in just a plain cardboard box with the card in an anti-static baggie inside. No instructions or anything else. Luckily everything you need is on Magewell's website. I got 2 because I needed 6 HDMI inputs from a 360 camera rig. No problems running 2 cards in one computer (just remember to change the "card number" using the little rotary switch on the card). I used this with Vahana VR which had no problems reading all 6 inputs at 1080p and live stitching them into a 360 sphere. Also some other cards I tried had trouble with the signal strength from GoPros and other consumer cameras if the cables were a little long. The Magewell card seems to be able to deal with longer cables from stuff like GoPros, DSLRs...etc

Good quality capture card, loud fan
The little fan is very loud. I use my card in an external case and it has to be on the other side of the room from a mic source.
