Omron 10 Series Wireless Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor; 2-User, 200-Reading Memory, Backlit Display, TruRead Technology, Bluetooth Works with Amazon Alexa by Omron

I bought this machine after a surprise at the doctors office, readings of 160/100. I was asked to monitor my blood pressure for several weeks to see what the average was.I bought this over other devices as I have a liking for Alexa. The machine works great overall with minor issues.Bluetooth: I have an Android 7.1.1 phone and the connectivity works fine. In order for bluetooth to work properly, the bluetooth on the phone needs to be on, followed up by the location services. The location mode must be set to "high accuracy" or the machine will not be detected. It does not work with "Device Only" selected. Low energy bluetooth devices require location services to be turned on in order to be properly detected. This is a function of the Android operating system, not the Omron device. In two months, I think I may have had one issue and it was solved by rebooting the phone. The normal routine is to make sure bluetooth is on, flip on the location services, open the app on the phone and then press the button on the Omron device. On the app you tap "Add blood pressure" and it transfers. As soon as it transfers, I turn off location services. It works perfectly when this path is followed. This is a similar procedure that I use when syncing my Fitbit Charge 2 to the same phone and the FitBit app.Alexa: I have a Fire TV stick attached to my Samsung TV. Within Alexa app, you have to find the Omron skill, enable it, and link it to your Amazon account. I can quiz the TV for my blood pressure using the remote control and it gives a set of commands and visuals to display the pressure readings. Sometimes, it is flaky and cuts off when reading the pressure out loud. On the plus side, when asked, it will verbally give the last 5 readings, an average for the month/last 10 readings. I find the Alexa skill to be a little quirky, however, I consider it a "gadget". I'm a "Star Trek" fan of many years and Alexa is starting to sound a lot like the "Star Trek" computer with the amount of information that she is capable of giving. In the 1980's, I can remember watching the crew of "The Next Generation" quizzing the computer verbally for information and using black touch screens. At the time, I thought that was from the 24th century in some distant future. Now, a reality in the 21st century.Android App: Install the "OMRON connect US/CAN" 2.3 app on the phone. It gives a blood pressure history that is easy enough to follow. Careful to choose the right one as there are other Omron apps.Accuracy: I take my pressure two times a day, when I rise and at night before bed. I set the machine to take the pressure three times in a row with 15 second rest intervals and then it provides an average. The numbers are usually close to each other. Occasionally, 1 out of the 3 readings will be higher or lower than the other. I think it is more important to remember is that it's not about any one specific number. With enough readings and data, you build a profile over time that is measured and shows in the app by the day, week, month, etc. The machine is sensitive to movement so make sure to rest your arm on something!Health: With the use of the machine and making modifications to my lifestyle, in two months I have managed to reduce my pressure from an average of 160/100 to my first "normal" reading today of 118/74, prompting my review of this product. I quit drinking caffeine and the results are *astonishing*. I'm very pleased with this device and how it actually assisted with monitoring my health. With the aid of my FitBit to track my heart rate and steps, I have also managed to reduce my resting heart rate by 8-10.My advice is that this a great product, take a few minutes to read the directions and understand how it works. It's not really about pressing the button once a day and then crying about it because it doesn't seem accurate. Take hundreds of readings over a course of time and let the math speak for itself. I have used this machine daily for two months and I would highly recommend this product.Thank you!

Shipped and delivered in time, as promised.The device is very good. Quality build.The arm cuff is probably one of the best out there. The part that is in direct contact with the arm is less flexible than most others, pretty much like a semi open tube, one has to kind of insert his/her arm within it, and then finish wrapping the rest of the cuff (which is more flexible) around the arm. This ensure the best fit one can get.Setting the device is very easy. It allows for single or 3-in-a-row (recommended) measures. In this case, the user has to set up the lapse between measures (usually 1 minute). The device will take 3 measures and show the average, as recommended by the medical community.All measures will be stored in the device's memory. Despite showing the average of 3 measures, each individual measures can be assessed at the click of a button.The screen is dark, with white digits, clearly visible.This device has some additional features, worth considering:1. It can detect arrhythmia and extrasistoles. When it does, it will show an icon to inform of this fact.2. It can detect (and will show an icon) movement of the arm during the measure.3. All measures will be stored (I am not sure how large its internal memory is)4. It has a led system, that will glow green, amber or red, if Blood Pressure values were normal, above normal, or high.DOWNSIDE.This model supposedly has the ability to send/upload its data via Bluetooth to a smartphone.From here, the data will be stored in a personal account, via an App available on the Apple Store or GooglePlay.This is all produced by omronwellness dot com.However, as reported by other reviewers, the App not only does not work well. Indeed it has been removed from both stores.I expect Omron is working on a better App.Therefore, for those interested in buying this model because its ability to upload data via Bluetooth, they better check and consult with Omron if this is going to happen anytime soon.Otherwise, there is a similar model without the Bluetooth capability.I still rate this device 5 stars because I am interested in its quality and its ability to measure BP well.For those also interested in its "communication" features, they will be disappointed at that.However, I believe that this devices more than makes up for this thanks to:- quality build- the best fitting arm cuff you can get- its automatic features (such as ability to take 3 measures in a row and average them)- its ability to detect arrhythmia and extarsistoles

This is amazing Blood Pressure monitor that is capable of connecting with your smartphone and maintain log of your readings. Unfortunately this product is not officially available in India. Its companion app "Omron Wellness" is only available in US. However as the app is free, it is possible to download the apk file and install on android smartphone. Its tricky (if not impossible) to install it on iPhone. Once installed, its easy to connect the device and upload the readings. The device itself can maintain log of 100 entries per user. It supports two user profiles. Another useful feature is that it can take 3 consecutive readings at specified intervals (say 15, 30, 60 seconds) and record average of that to improve the accuracy. Colored LED indicators show if the readings are normal, low or high. The quality of cuff is extremely good.Readings recorded through app are stored on cloud and can be accessed from user account created on omronwellness.comUser can see periodic graphs (week, month, year etc) and also enter comments of each reading. I got BP786N model which came with 4 "AA" batteries and USB cord. It is highly recommended to buy separate case as it is very difficult to remove the device from the box and keep back.Overall this is versatile and accurate Blood Pressure Monitor and highly recommended if you want to track blood pressure on regular basis.

Great unit, but outside of the USA, forget about Bluetooth. It appears that for the majority if not all of markets outside of the USA, the software available from the Playstore does not include a profile for the BP786N (packaged as 10 Series)This would seem to be a marketing/revenue generating ploy or at the very least, a slack way to roll out a product. Personal opinion.

Quiero decir que es un poco más caro que otros modelos de la marca por el bluetooth, que para que funcione correctamente la función, tienes que bajarte la app de internet ya q la que está en la playa store no sirve, pero son exageradamente 5 mi autos más, las funciones son geniales, te guarda en la aplicación todas las mediciones, las puedes guardar en pdf o hasta enviárselas a tu doctor por correo, si puedes gastar un poco más de lo normal hazlo sin dudarlo.Respecto a las mediciones y funciones son precisas y adecuadas.

Oct 19, 2017The product reached me today ahead of schedule even though it was custom-imported from USA. First use gave encouraging results. Despite being Omron's top-of-the range product, it was a no-brainer to use. Tried on all adult members of the family and the BP measurements are near to those previously recorded (some weeks/months ago) at doctor's office. I plan to take it to my family doctor so she can validate it against her manual BP machine. (Will record my views again after getting her opinion.)
