These are good but...
These are good, I've caught over 200 crayfish in 1 trap at once, but the zippers are cheap and flimsy so handle with care and the sewing on the bait pouches is bad , the crayfish unraveled the seam after the second use , really bringing down the amount caught.

Great design and works well
First time I have tried this. I put a 1.5" square of bacon in the bait pouch, tied a 20' line to it and threw it as far as I could from shore. I sank a few feet, pulled it up in about 5 hours and had 27 Fresh Water Lobster (crawdads). If they are there you will catch them. The zipper access is great, I just held it over a bucket and shook it, They all came out. I was out taking pictures so I thought I would just put out 1 basket. It came with 2 so I could have really had a haul if I wanted more.

" Ditch Witches " are great survival food !
EXCELLENT trap ! I been making " mud bugs " traps since I was a kid 1950 - out of wire, jugs, cans, willow , bamboo and more - THESE are the best. They are simple and basic AND they fold up ! I only use in fresh water. No ocean here in Colorado. Mtn Mel, Ret . USN SERE - P. I. JEST Inst. ( have trapped from the Arctic - Amazon )

Great for the price!
These are great for the price. I bought 4 for catching freshwater prawns, and I was surprised that they not only caught lots of prawns, but some fairly large mud crabs as well! The zipper for the bait pouch broke on one trap, but we just put the bait straight into the trap and it worked fine. Also the wire clamps didn’t hold up, but we improvised and just collapsed the traps and tied them with the string. A minor inconvenience, and definitely worth it for the price. I was also impressed with the durability of the mesh. The mud crabs usually destroy soft traps with their claws. Again, these probably won’t last forever but I’m overall very happy with this product. We’ve gotten a lot of use out of these, and I just bought four more because they work so well!

Excellent crawdad traps!
I bought 2 of these to thin out the crawdad population in a muddy pond. I continually caught 25-50 per trap, per day for about a month, so I bought 2 more. Still catching about 100/day in the 4 traps but it's starting to taper off and the water is noticeably clearer. Traps have been in the water 24 hours a day for over a month and show no sign of deterioration. They're easy to bait with dry cat food using the zippered pouch (fill it all the way up if traps will sit for 24 hours and you'll catch more dads). I tied a floating poly 3/8 rope to the included lanyard, anchored down the other end with a tent stack and just pitch them out in the pond. I have used the smaller metal funnel traps previously and they work OK, but these are simpler and hold a lot more, and bigger crawdads.
