I believe this design is unique and the best for using with ski helmet:1. the top is thin and provides plenty of warms under a helmet.2. the neck is double layer that shields nicely from wind. It can be easily pulled down below chin in warmer conditions.My existing Turtle Fur shellaclava was purchased more than 20 years, served me well for all this years and is still in good shape.I've decided to buy a new one (out of fear that it might be discontinued and that would be devastating to me :-)) and to have a spare one and to have a newer look.Please notice that Chelonia 150 Fleece is there warmest model. Custome rep from Turle Fur confirmed for me that Chelonia 150 Fleece is warmer than Micro Fir. Their website is inaccurate as it shows it in reverse.

This 150 is warm and soft but fits a bit snug compared to my original Turtle Fur I bought in the mid ‘90’s. Love the original and I’ll give this as a gift and order a new Original. Their customer service is five stars!

Great item that keeps the mouth and nose protected, yet is breathable. Good quality materials.

It doesn't get cold much in Florida, but when it does, it's a wet cold that permeates and brings misery. This shellaclava is perfect for my outdoor activities. It is comfortable, it is warm, and I'm thankful for being able to cover most of my face when it's windy. It's long at the neck so that I can tuck it into my jacket to keep out the wind and cold. I highly, highly recommend!

This is amazing for those of us with those outdoor duties that in rain or shine must be done. This balaclava kept me toasty even in negative degree weather.

I purchased this for a ski trip. The product worked wonderfully. The neck warmer portion was thick and soft and help to cut winds in below 0 temperatures. The head covering portion was comfortable and fit well within a ski helmet. No complaints after seven days of skiing. Would recommend high quality product.
