For Pete's sake, state the actual weight. Almost all food products list the net weight. You can't list a product that should be sold by the pound or Kilo, yet is listed as a "bale", so many "bricks" or "blocks". Unless, of course, I can pay "somewhere around" $18.99....

maybe it loses moisture over time, causing it to lose weight since packaging?

How much does this expand? How much water is used to hydrate it? Is additional rinsing required to rinse out salt?

I started with about a gallon of water. Added more as necessary. Let it soak overnight. No rinsing necessary.
