Elegant, Artsy, Tacticool
Not sure what the previous reviewer intended when he purchased the knife and then wrote the review.First off, this knife is amazing quality for the price. If you are a true knife collector, then you appreciate different lockups. This one designed by G&G Hawk is ingenious in my opinion. Unlike the much more expensive Chris Reeve collaboration, the Ti-Lock, this lock exudes confidence. Say goodbye to the traditional pivot and instead, welcome a smoother look and feel. The strength of the lock is ensured by one's grip. The only way for the lock to bust and the blade come crashing the hand is if so much pressure to the back of the spine is applied in order to break the two screws. It would have to quite a lot as the pressure will be working against a leverage anyway and not directly. If you are using a folding knife for anything that would exude this type of pressure, then you should not be using a folder but rather a fixed blade. It is a weird feeling at first to trust your own grip and the mechanism but soon becomes second nature. Another trippy thing is disengaging the "lock" with such easy pressure. The lever works flawless too almost like a delayed flipper. One can actually feel the tension in hand both on the opening and closing. The blade is perfectly shaped, grinded (hollow), and awesome EDC length. Love this blade! As the above reviewer said about the steel being stainless and well versed, I agree as well. Where I disagree is both the femininity and lack of quality. Say what??? This knife looks elegant and like a work of art, both suited for dress, casual, and tactical. Most all parts are aluminum and steel and the multi-colors work together quite well. The AUS8 edge polishes well also.I found the knife quite ergonomic and because of its awesome weight, it has replaced my Large Sebenza as of late in carrying duty.I you are looking at this knife and appreciate uniqueness and quality at a decent price, I cannot recommend it more highly. Thanks

Absolutely great light duty EDC **PLEASE READ THE EDIT/UPDATE AT THE END!**
The media could not be loaded. This is a great knife! Absolutely love it as a light duty EDC. for more of my thoughts on it check out my video review!Pros:- Griploc locking mechanism works flawlessly- lock up is perfect- fast to deploy, fast to close- looks extremely classy- light weight design (some dislike this, I don't mind)- Sharp blade with decent balanced steel- absolutely love G&G hawk designs and their logo (which is on the blade)- clip design holds firmly to pants, but is easy to get in and out of pocketcons:- Must use the flipper to open, those are not thumb studs you see, they are blade stops.- light weight (some people seem to think it feels like a toy in the hand, I disagree personally)- this knife uses 2 coil springs, they can develop a slight squeak over time (you can fix it though)- lock up is not going to be as secure as something like a lock back knife- more moving parts means more points that it could fail, though I have had no issue with it and don't foresee any in the future.Overall, I think this is an absolutely stellar knife and I would buy it again in a heart beat if I did it all over again. This is not a knife that was made for hard use, but rather for basic every day city tasks, (such as opening packages, open mail, cut some fruit, etc.) I have no doubt that with this knives design is more than capable of handling all of this, and likely more though heavier use will wear on the mechanics much faster (remember, the frame is entirely Aluminum, which is why it is so light weight.).I can not in good faith recommend this knife as a user knife. If it is purely for a collection, go for it, otherwise, it has a few major flaws that I need to mention.Firstly, the side plates. This is a light weight knife, and that is great, however the aluminum used for the side plates turned out to be way too soft and too thin for its use. The original custom used (i believe) Titanium, so the design could work with the thin plates. this one... soft aluminum, I grazed the corner of a table (not overly hard) and the pocket clip got snagged a bit. the entire thing ripped out of the aluminum like nothing, leaving me with a knife, with no pocket clip. I was amazed at how little it took to pull the clip out. In any case, I did what any sensible person would do and contacted Boker... Problem #2. It took them over a week to get back with me. The CS Rep was very nice, but in the end, the only thing they could do was have me pay $14 to send it in and they would "try to find larger screws that they could put in" gee, thanks for offering to jerry rig my knife together for me...I could do that at home for free... They said there was no way to even purchase the side plates from them and the only thing they seem to warranty is LOST screws. So yeah, Stay away from this knife if you are looking for something usable, because it is not built out of materials strong enough to carry with you as an EDC. I would also like to note, this is purely a Boker issue, G&G Hawk are still awesome designers and people and I would buy another of their designs in a heart beat as long as it isn't one produced by Boker.

Modern gents blade with awesome workmanship.
I'd label this a gentlemans knife rather than a tac blade though. It's really light in the hand and just seems to disappear in pocket. The lever action takes some getting used to but I haven't had any problems with the friction lock at all. Deployment is quick and reliable. Jimping isn't the best but not a deal breaker(I wouldn't call this a "hard use" blade). Beautiful knife and a very nice price. Yeah it's made in Taiwan, but the fit & finish is awesome, blade came dead nutz centered and very sharp. Lockup is great, No side-to-side play and if there is a lock intergrated into the lanyard hole that locks the blade open. AUS 8…decent steel. If your on the fence about this blade… go ahead and grab it. Cheers.

Exceeded my expectations
I'm always on the lookout for something new and different in folding knives. When I saw the BladeHQ video for this Boker Griploc I ordered one right away.Unexpectedly, the action of the flipper is like that of an "assisted" knife. When the blade is out 90 degrees, the spring in the linkage carries it the rest of the way. It is very smooth and works readily in any orientation. Minimal pressure on the grip locks the blade firmly in place. Take the pressure off and it closes more easily than a slip-joint folder. The spring also assists on the closing functionThe hollow-ground blade is thin behind the edge and came very sharp out of the box. With a few minutes work on the Edge Pro, it is the sharpest knife I've ever owned. It will readily cut free-hanging phone book paper.
