Perfect patio lamp, and attractive.

We first bought this item for our outdoor gazebo a few years ago. It adds a warm accent light to the gazebo and looks great. We liked the first one so much that we bought a second to match the first in our gazebo. The batteries lasted the whole summer in 2024. If you use it every night or don’t turn it off when you go to bed you likely will need to change the batteries at some point during the summer. While it is fairly heavy, we recommend that you lay it on its side or remove the shade if you anticipate high winds. We didn’t do that and they fell over and landed on the floor of our deck but fortunately the lamps didn’t break. The quality of the lamp is high but we bring these lamps for the winter and remove the batteries.

We ordered 2 of these lamps for our livingroom. One of them had a faulty switch, so we sent it back. The seller reversed the charges for both lamps, but I tried to convince them to reverse just for one lamp! We ordered a replacement, and what do you know? The shade was bent! We wanted to send it back, too, but were told that Amazon's return policy allowed us to keep it AND to order another one to replace it! The seller told us that they were the ones who made the billing error, and they reversed the charges for both lamps!! The net result is -- we have 3 lamps (one of which has a bent shade), but only had to pay for one! The lamps themselves fit in beautifully, and now emit a relatively low light that is good for evening mood and calmness. Thank you, Amazon, for making the return process relatively painless. Carol

I originally purchased two of these lamps, then added a third for our outdoor seating area. I can't express enough how pleased I am! The lamps offer 3 different settings, although we have only used the lowest setting (see pictures), which cast plenty of light to provide pleasing ambiance at night on our patio. Highest setting is bright enough to read by outside at night, although we have not used them for that purpose. Although the fully- contained (under glass) bulb is LED, the shade casts a lovely warm light (not "dentist office" bright white like some LED lamps). Base is very sturdy, and is an attractive, multi-colored (yet not overly bright) slate. The size is also perfect for a side table (see pics). Already inadvertently made use of the timer feature when we accidentally left them on one night - lights turned themselves off. Powered by three (3) "D" batteries.Assembly was very simple - just a few pieces/5 minutes to put together, no tools needed whatsoever. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a fair amount of packaging that the lamp comes in, but I was fine with that, as it ensured that the lamp was not damaged in transit. On/off switch is up near the bulb, but easy to operate.Only thing I am unsure of is how the bulb would be replaced if/when it ever went out, as the bulb is completely protected/surrounded by an integrated glass "container". Theoretically, the entire bulb unit would have to be replaced. I intend to follow up with the manufacturer to see if I can get replacement lamps to keep on hand in the event that the bulb goes out. Will update my review if/when I get more information, but in the meantime, I am thrilled with my purchase!P.S. We have had several very breezy days since I purchased the lamps, and they have not knocked over in the wind yet!

After looking at many cordless lamps, I decided to order this one. It is very good. It comes in a well-packed box with the shade very well protected. The base looks like stone (it's not), and the base is black. The main lamp mechanism slips into the base, hiding the sleeve that holds three "D" cell batteries. By looking at the lamp from afar, you would think it was plugged-in.The only thing you should know is the light is not very "warm" coming out of it. Rather than a 2700K warm white level, it seems a bit higher (I don't have a way to measure it -- maybe 3,500K?). Regardless, the lamp looks and works very well.UPDATE:We've been using this now for few weeks, and we find that it works best with good alkaline batteries, and not as well with 10,000 mAH NiMH rechargeable batteries. The low setting gets dim over about an hour. The medium setting becomes like the low setting when first turned on, and high diminishes to the medium and the low volume output over about two hours.We expected this to last longer, but if you start it out on medium, you'll get usable light for about two hours on rechargeable batteries. Longer on good alkaline single-use batteries.

We needed a lamp in the middle of our living room and there is no floor outlet. This lamp is working beautifully. We have it on for about three hours each night and it's been almost two months with batteries going strong. It has three settings, lo/med/high. We use the medium setting for watching tv or having dinner. It's not a really bright light. You won't be doing needlework with it. It's more for nice ambient light in the room. The quality is great and we like the look of the lamp. The sides are a faux mica design with green/brown/gold colors. There is a button at the top of the column that you push to turn it on/off. That's easier for my elderly mom vs. a twist knob. Great design! We'll be buying another one very soon for other side of the living room.

I liked pretty lamps. Had to return. THEY are small for Mt area. COULD NOT RETURN.

The lamp is a lot smaller scale than described and hardly any light. Can't replace or change the bulb. This is really only good for decoration and it isn't even that decorative. It costs $20 to return. Be sure you really, really want this lamp.
