Easy to Use, Works Great
The media could not be loaded. I'd purchased some Expanded Polystyrene (eps) foam from Silverlake on Amazon for a craft project. Bought this tool kit so I could cut and shape it. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. The foam came with a little loose shrink wrap around it, so it was kinda smashed (I have a separate review for that, this is just words to the wise if you buy foam online). The various heads on this tool heated quickly - like within:15 seconds it was hot enough to work. There's no temperature control - it's just on or off. But that seems to be the industry standard- particularly for an inexpensive tools such as this.I've never used one of these before I can see where it can take a little getting used to. The wire head seem to make very smooth cuts whereas the metal heads sort of just melted everything and left a more textured surface. (see picture I uploaded for examples). All the heads worked well. I just need to learn a little finesse- they are hot and the EPS foam melts fast!I'm not advocating for this, but I was in a bit of a hurry so I swapped heads frequently. Once I powered off the wand it seemed to cool as quickly as it had heated. Granted, I DID NOT touch any of the metal heated bits, only the base of each head to change them out. So I was able to work pretty seamlessly by just switching unit off giving it :15 seconds to cool and swapping the heads out. Again this may not work for you... use common sense and don't burn yourself. Also, I wore a respirator while doing this in a very well ventilated area, so I don't know how much it smelled- but be mindful of those brain cells! One side note for beginners here: the thick metal heads melted EPS so quickly that I ended up sort of caramelizing or burning a few spots. Not a big deal I could kind of scrape them off and they were just a light brownish color. The tool seems well made and sturdy enough. I don't plan on using this often, so anticipate it should last a good long time.Overall, this was a fantastic purchase that works very well 👍

Works very well
Used both short rod and wire bow on 2-inch Owen's Corning XPS foam board. Short rod worked well, and the wire bow went through it like butter.

Easy to use
Worked great for what I needed. It took a second to get used to, but I was able to create the cutouts I wanted for my case. Cutting seemed a bit slow, but it was the first time using it.

Melts through styrofoam with no pieces that cling to you
These tools heat up quickly and cut through styrofoam well. Definitely use in a well ventilated area. Like anything, if you are using this tool to make something, it does require practice to get good at it. I bought this to cut out my daughter's name from styrofoam letters for a sweet 16 candelabra. With more practice, my letters would've come out better, but not bad. That said, I decided to make print letters. Script letters, all connected is something you probably won't pull off without practice. This tool will definitely be useful next time I have a huge piece of styrofoam to throw out. This tool will break the styrofoam down quickly, with no little pieces clinging to you.

Worth every penny
I honestly didn’t think it would work THIS good! Genius idea & it helps keep the foam you get w/packages, outta landfills. I make lots of fairy garden & Halloween decorations, so looking forward to making new creations w/my new tool. Only downside is the smell. Definitely do outside & wear PPE’s.

Does not last!
The medium size straight attachment, no longer heats up. It stopped working after the 2nd use. The other are good.I would not buy it again.

Cuts like butter
Really awesome tool. It can be a little addicting and you end up cutting spare pieces just for fun and practice. I would say to take your time when cutting, it cuts like butter. Be careful with the freshly cut foam, it will burn you. It is good to practice at least a couple of times so that you know how it handles
