How could I set the blades to cut off all of my hair (a No1) in just several passes?

Adjust the blades with the knob on the back of the razor then just use it as it is. It doesn’t cut quite as tight as I’d like, but it’s damn close. My other shaver is a wahl pro with a lead, that gets mega close. You get what you pay for, but this is a very good razor and cuts pretty close

What kind of battery does it use, Li-ion or different? Is battery life any good, or at least decent?

There's no information on battery type it's supposed to have up to 45 mins cordless use I' ve not had any problems with battery life ,use it once or twice a week and charge it monthly ,it's never run out,although you can still use it plugged in if it does.

If these cut shortest 0.5,what is the next length increment

0.5mm is with no attachment. The shortest length with the attachment is 3mm, then 4mm etc all the way to 24mm
