Great shower seat!
I am a recent amputee which puts me on a shower chair now for me to take a shower and this folding shower seat is proving to be one of my best investments. I weigh almost 200lbs and this seat is solid as a rock.It comes with complete installation instructions and a template is included as well to make the job even easier. The fit and finish of all of the metal parts is superb, as well as the finish of the teakwood seat slats. The bracing included with this shower seat makes this unit as solid as a rock. I always feel perfectly safe while sliding on and off of this seat, as well as the entire duration of my shower. It never rocks, or moves at all.I can fold it easily with one hand from outside of the shower which gets it totally out of the way of my wife's ability to use the shower with ease.Make sure to compare the bracing and ease of use when looking at similar units...this one is fantastic!

Perfect for smaller showers, great for any shower
Easy to install and perfect size (36"-width). It folds away when not in use/needed, so a great space saver! I think it's perfect for smaller showers, and great for any shower.

well made and strudy
This is well made and sturdy. It doesn't protrude much from the wall, so it's kinda space savings. Pay attention to the other reviewers that mention how to mount it. My handyman said that info was super helpful when he installed it.

Beautiful sturdy shower bench
The Home Aesthetics fold down/up shower bench is very well built and beautiful too. This was an important addition to my 97 yr old mothers new ADA roll-in shower.Be aware when installing this bench that although the template for drilling the mounting holes is correct, it does not tell you how far away from a fixed object or wall it should be placed. This resulted in holes getting drilled in the brand new tile that were too close to the side wall. These had to be filled with grout to repair them. Luckily the grout filled holes are hidden under the bench.I am very happy with my purchase, and my mother is delighted!I definitely recommend and would buy again.

A Quality, Useful, and Attractive Product
I needed this folding bench for my elderly wife to use in the dressing area near our shower. It replaced a free-standing bench that had to be moved out of the way frequently. It also proved too unstable to provide adequate safety. Because this bench easily folds up against the wall, it obstructs access to the toilet only when being used. Because it rigidly attached to a wall, it cannot topple over during use. This is a well-designed, well-made, and attractive bench. The included hardware is probably adeqate, but I went to Ace for specific screws for my modified installation (see below). The manufacturer actually printed the template on card stock instead of flimsy paper. This simple detail made a big difference during installation.I was not comfortable with mounting this bench to sheetrock; I wanted it positively attached to the underlying studs for safety and durability. So here's what I did.Measuring the template indicated that this bench would mount to a 2" x 10" which could be screwed directly to studs. So, I located the studs and marked the wall. I also marked the ends of the bench because it might not conveniently line up with the studs. This mounting board must be at least as long as the bench plus any extra needed to reach a nearby stud. (If you have to go beyond the bench on one side, you might want to add the same amount to the other side just for a balanced look. Your call.)Drill clearance holes through the mounting board and mount it using a level and 3 or 4 screws per stud (3 1/4" long) that are driven flush with the surface. Attach the template to the mounting board, and drill pilot holes for the mounting screws. The 1 1/2" offset from the wall looks fine to me, and we hang our towels there.

Template is inaccurate!
Product is in good condition. The problem is if you use the template given the seat will not sit flat and Crosslinks will blame improper installation and take no responsibility for the inaccurate template provided.

Varnish peeling
I installed this bench about 2 months ago. The outer finish is starting to peel and can be sharp. I use this every day, I am a paraplegic and have to worry about rubbing on sharp object. I will probably end up removing the wood and remove the finish and install a better varnish. I already drilled the holes into my tile so I have to use their base.
