I use this on the FX3 and it lets me rig and run the camera in various ways, but most helpful for me was the fact that it meant I could easily take the top handle on and off without having to rebuild the cage each time. I know some people prefer to use a different handle, but if you want to use the XLR audio then you really need a cage like this one in my opinion. And it plays nicely with all the regular manufactures in terms of adding extra bits on still as well.

Love this cage, but the mini manfrotto plate has a solid base and doesn’t work with a lot of the manfrotto fluid heads that have safety catches. If they sorted that it would be a perfect, compact run & gun rig with a very quick option to mount to tripod or bigger rigs/gimbals. Sadly have had to put on a longer manfrotto plate instead rendering their chunky short-plate useless.

I haven't tried alternative brand cages, but i see no reason why I would now. The Tilta cage is perfect, using the threads on the FX30 body to completely secure to the camera. The handle on the right side is adjustable and works a treat. Most of the compartments and ports are perfectly accessible with no obstruction, though there is a bit of resistance on the HDMI door. However, it's nothing major.I love the little tightening key that has a magnetic slot at the bottom of the cage. A small detail, but very thoughtful and extremely useful. The NATO rails all around the cage are also well placed, and often utilised. The quick release plate that it comes with is a nice idea, but doesn't work with the Manfrotto tripod that I use. There are notches on that, yet no room for those notches to slide through on the plate. It may prove more useful on other accessories.Overall, I would highly recommend this cage if you are considering rigging out your FX3 / FX30.
