A Love Letter to Whiskey: Fifth Anniversary Edition

Let It Burn
This book is a solid 4.5-5 star read. At least the original version of the book which ends with an, “I’ll Be Waiting”. This is not a smutty book, and it is barely spicy, though the spice that is present is well done and satisfying.I don’t think the Epilogue nor Love, Whiskey (both in the 5th Anniversary Edition) are necessary, as we as the witnesses to this story KNOW that, even with the unanswered ending, Brecks (I love this name and hate that it was shortened, though I understand why) and Jamie cannot and will not settle for a life that doesn’t include the other. While it was interesting to read the same events from Jamie’s perspective, and did make him seem less of a prick in certain situations, it did get a bit redundant. These characters are so frustrating and there are instances when that frustration is overwhelming; why would he have waited for her more than once with her lack of communication? Why would she have waited for his after the Angel situation fell apart and he didn’t contact her? So many things. But, you know what? That’s real. People are horrible at communicating. Luckily, their souls recognized that, though their owners could be idiotic, they were each incomplete without the other. Why did this book hit so hard? Because it’s relatable and emotional, with some scenes so lifelike that my response is visceral. It’s like reliving parts of my life that, unfortunately, did not have the same happy ending but lets me remember these moments, regardless. It shines a spotlight on some regrets that I have. It’s emotional, it’s under my skin. It’s a book that I will re-read, though likely only through the original cliffhanger ending. The babies… unnecessary, and this seems to be a common theme with female authors; that no story, no happily-ever-after is complete without offspring. What saves this a little is that Jamie knew he wanted kids from an early age. What saves it even more is that he figures out what he really only wanted was Brecks. I wish it could have been left with these two soulmates being enough for each other while surfing the waves of both the east and west coasts, with a shot of whiskey to warm them after.

Great Read.
I really loved this book. I like that it followed the characters through High school College and then their careers. Life is not always easy and sometimes you think you are making the right decision’s and they turn out to be the wrong ones. Relationships are hard and this couple was tested for sure. But their love always brought them back together. Their magnetic pull. I appreciated the realness of this story.

**Book Review: "A Love Letter to Whiskey" by Kandi Steiner**
*** A LOVE LETTER TO WHISKEY ***🥃⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️Kandi Steiner's "A Love Letter to Whiskey" completely wrecked me. The emotional whiplash this book put me through was insane. I have to apologize to the friends that I sent video updates to cause those poor souls probably were so concerned about my mental wellbeing. I was left completely crippled from the rollercoaster of feelings. The only words that I’ve found that accurately describe this book to me are “Devastatingly beautiful”.The story follows the relationship between B and Jamie, two souls whose connection is as intoxicating as whiskey itself. Steiner's writing is immersive, pulling you into the highs and lows of their journey with a buzz you never come down from. Every chapter felt like a punch to the gut, and I couldn't help but ride the wave of their passion, heartache, and longing.Kandi Steiner crafted a breathtaking story that demands a big fat middle finger for setting an impossibly high bar for all other books in my book pile. The narrative is a beautiful mess, capturing the chaotic reality of life and our propensity for making the dumbest mistakes. We are flawed beings, and this novel lays bare our tendency to hurt those we love, to cling to feelings that are hard to let go of, and to make choices that sometimes lead us down painful paths. The characters are incredibly real and relatable, with all their imperfections and vulnerabilities. Steiner doesn't shy away from showing their darker sides, making them feel human and genuine. The push and pull between B and Jamie is maddening yet utterly captivating, and you can't help but root for them despite the chaos they create."A Love Letter to Whiskey" is a testament to the messy, complicated nature of love. It's a story of addiction—not to substances, but to people, to emotions, to the intoxicating feeling of being deeply connected to someone. It's about the mistakes we make, the pain we endure, and the hope that somehow, amidst the turmoil, we might find a way to make it work.If you're ready to dive into the chaotic depths of human emotion, this novel is a must-read. It's a raw, poignant, and unforgettable journey that will leave you breathless and yearning for more. Thank you, Kandi Steiner, for this devastatingly beautiful book that will forever hold a special place in my heart - but also, how dare you ruin other books for me 😂P.S - to all the friends that I’m now making read this book. Please stay my friend.
