Can't this be easily defeated by gaining access to the wires behind the keypad and shorting the two wires together?

It uses a special tamper resistant screw that holds the cover on that makes access to wiring in back more difficult but not impossible.

125KHz EM ID cards are compatible with the keypad. You can search “125KHz EM ID cards”on AMAZON.

Can I power this keypad with a 12V alkaline battery from a hardware store?

It can not be powered by the Alkaline battery. Usually we suggest you use a 12/24VDC 1A power adapter to power it if there is no auxiliary output of the gate&garage door opener. Also you can use a USP power supply for it if the AC electricity is not stable.

Our gate needs one continuous open code and several temporary open codes. Is this possible? I already received the unit from you. Thanks.

Thanks for ordering our Wired Keypad. You can set maximum up to 2000 codes to our keypad. But they are all permanent codes. You can delete the codes manually after them to be used temporarily by someone only has temporary authority. Best regards, Supreform Tech
