Plays all regions, compact and easy to use
Bought some dvds for my daughter which wouldn’t play in our old dvd player stating ‘prohibited playback be region code’. This one was reasonably priced and arrived next day and the dvd played instantly. It’s not blue ray like my other one but the dial wasn’t blue ray so that didn’t matter to me. Is small so doesn’t take up much space at all. Comes with a controller as expected. No issues, happy customer.

Disappointing Remote Coverage and Struggles to Play Some DVDs.
This player is what you would expect for the price range. It felt hollow and light, Not much to it. That said, the connections were sturdy and not loose-fitting. The DVD tray moved well with no rattle or cause for concern. Installation was straightforward, with the correct cables provided. The issue for me was that the remote control only appeared to work within the first 2 to 4 meters; beyond that, there was no response from the player, not even intermittent controls. I did replace the batteries with fresh branded ones to no avail.Surprisingly, they were happy to live with this glitch. I agree; it's a 30-quid player, considerably cheaper than alternative brand-name players. Sometimes, you take the rough with the smooth. That was till playback issues. The player failed to play a USA Region 1 DVD; as a full disclosure, the disk was lightly scratched but played fine on my old laptop. It also failed to play a UK Region 1 DVD, disk 2 in a set of 3, and A BBC title. The player had no issues with disks 1 and 3. Disk 2 was immaculate, had no scratches and played fine on the SP3 and my old laptop.I knew I would have to write a review to warn others. So, I installed and tested it in my own home. The remote coverage issues remained a real disappointment and would have been a game changer for me. But where playback was concerned, the player successfully played every DVD I threw at it. Multiple Regions, including homemade camera videos, burnt onto cheap disks of questionable quality. One of which had many scratches. So if you can put up with the remote control coverage issue, this is still worth 30 quid.
