Terrific brewer at a great price
With everyone raving about cold brew coffee, I decided I wanted to give it a try. I started with the most basic of setups - a spaghetti sauce jar, some coarse ground coffee beans, and a strainer. That worked for a while but I wanted something that was actually meant for this process (not to mention a lot less messy). I'm budget-conscious, so I looked around a bit and finally settled on this Bialetti model. And am I ever glad I did. This thing is absolutely perfect. The price is perfectly reasonable (even more so now; as of the time of this writing, it's gone down a few bucks since I bought mine) and it's ridiculously simple to use. Coarse-grind your beans of choice, put them in the enclosed mesh basket, attach the lid to said basket, fill with cold water, pop the lid on and stick it in the fridge. It's pretty solidly made as well - the glass isn't super thick, so if you gave it a hard whack on something it would probably end badly, but it's not so thin that you have to worry about it cracking or breaking if it gets jostled around in the fridge. The rest of the thing is plastic, but it's not flimsy.A couple notes on usage. I have a small manually-operated coffee grinder - the kind where you put the beans in the lid, put the lid on, and press the button to grind. I find 5 or 6 short pulses of the grinder gives me the coarse grind that works best for cold brew, but with a manually operated grinder like that, it doesn't exactly grind evenly. The beans on the bottom tend to get ground finer than one would like, while those closer to the top end up more coarsely ground. I usually pulse the grinder two or three times, flip it upside down (while holding the lid on, of course) and giving it a good shake to mix up the beans inside before pulsing it two or three times more. You still get a teensy bit of sediment at the very bottom of the carafe, but only a minuscule amount and nowhere near enough to complain about or mar your enjoyment of the final product. Also, while the recommended brew time is 8 to 12 hours, as a coffee aficionado (translation: caffeine junkie), I leave it to steep for at least a full day or two before drinking it, and I don't bother diluting the "concentrate" that is the final product. I simply pour it into my tumbler (one of those metal ones from *$ works terrific, you get three of them per undiluted carafe), add a splash of creamer, then some ice and I'm good to go. You'll want to experiment a little bit to find the amount of grounds and concentrate-to-water/milk ratio that works best for you, but for me, I use 1 cup of beans and fill it to the bottom of the plastic rim. (I like my coffee strong.)In sum, this is a great cold brewer for a great price. I've gotten tons of enjoyment out of it and I anticipate being able to enjoy it for quite some time to come.

It is really amazing guys, the taste
I recently started drinking cold brew coffee, and to save money I decided to try and make my own instead of buying it every day. After using this coffee maker with ground coffee i got from the same supplier, Nicoletti, I can NEVER go back to regular coffee. It is really amazing guys, the taste, strength, and smoothness is so much better than regular coffee! I like my coffee strong, so I let it brew longer than average. It was easy to use, made the first batch in less than 1 minute, then had to let it sit for about a day before it’s ready, like any cold brew process. Anyone looking to get into the cold brew game, I strongly suggest this setup. Also, the supplier was super efficient and friendly. Highly suggest!!

It does a great job for what it is
It does a great job for what it is, but I do find that the last couple glasses have some sediment in them. Overall though I love this product.

Great for strong cold-brew!
I like strong cold-brew, so I was shopping for a cold-brew pitcher that could make it properly. I researched a lot of products on (and off) Amazon, and there were a lot of good looking options. They all LOOKED great, but none of them can make strong coffee. Here's how to tell: Compare the basket volume to the overall pitcher volume. For decently strong cold-brew, you want a ratio of about 1 part coffee to 4 parts water (5 parts total, or 20% coffee grounds to 80% water). This pot holds 9 oz of coffee grounds, to 39 oz water (48 oz total @ 19% coffee!) Before buying this pot, I learned the hard way by purchasing another pot that could only hold 7% coffee to 93% water. After 2 super-watery brews, I returned it—did my research— and bought this one. This pot is the only option if you want strong cold-brew coffee!

Design flaw. Poor customer support by manufacturer.
If it were not for one design flaw this would have been great. The lid has tiny notched and bumps that must align to secure the lid in place and the torque on the narrow neck is dependent upon one screw. After a couple months of use the required force on the screw gave way and the item is useless after the threads of the screw would no longer twist the plastic.I contacted the company and they said not to twist it so hard; seriously how do you get it off if you don't twist it hard enough to remove it. They offered to replace the unit if I mailed it to them. The postage was prohibitive. I offered to send pictures as above but they said it was their only offer. So why pay for another faulty designed product!!!For the same price as postage to ship back I will try the Primula PCBBK-5351 51 oz Black Pace Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker ( https://www.amazon.com/Primula-PCBBK-5351-Black-Coffee-Maker/dp/B017KUELI4/ref=sr_1_5?crid=28LF9JVWM6GZE&keywords=cold+brew+coffee+maker&qid=1555946420&s=gateway&sprefix=cold+brew+%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-5 )

I drink so much coffee now.
I've never been a coffee drinker; perhaps it was too bitter for me or I just don't care for warm beverages. In any event, I thought I would give this a try seeing as how I love Bialetti's pans and other items I had purchased from their stores in Italy. This is not an extremely complex unit, and that is perfectly fine with me. I use a coarse grind coffee that is marketed for cold brewing, and have no complaints. It does seem that some of the finer particles get into the coffee, so if you are averse to this you may need to strain through a filter or grind your own beans (if one can make them larger, I'm no expert here). My coffee isn't bitter, and i feel like i'm getting more the taste of the product than that burnt/bitter taste that can be so overwhelming. I make this super strong, but you could certainly make it to your own level of strength.

Great quality
Easy to use and makes a good ice coffee. It has thin glass so can break if you’re rough washing it but other then that it has no issues. It looks great as well which is great to bring out for brunch.

Great but only lasted 6 months
I really liked this and it was not cheap but the glass has cracked along the base of the cold brewer within 6 months. The water was lukewarm when poured into the glass container and left to go cold before I placed it in the fridge. to me the integrity of the glass really is disappointing.

It can't keep up with my habit, but it makes outstanding coffee.
I bought this so that I could make really good coffee infusion for home brewed beer. I did make several batches for learning and drinking enjoyment and it makes spectacular coffee that I absolutely love drinking. I won't brew with it all summer for two reasons. First, by the time coffee finishes steeping approximately 1/3 of the brew water is gone. So, the threwput on this thing is about 5 cups of coffee or two days drinking for me for 18-24 hours brew time. Second, It takes me about three times the amount of regular store bought coffee groundds to cold brew than it does for a drip machine. It's 3 scoops for two mugs in the drip machine or 16 scoops for 5 mugs in the cold brewer. It's just unfortunate that my coffee intake is so high that this pitcher can't keep up. However, the coffee is delicious. It will make an outstanding batch of coffee IPA or breakfast stout. It will also be great for when company is expected to be able to offer a nice cup of cold brew.
