It really does improve flavor!
So, I'm a bit particular when it comes to coffee. I have grown accustomed to making coffee in a Moka pot, grinding just enough whole beans right before I brew. I also keep my whole beans in a special container that keeps them fresh and allows the CO2 released by the beans to be released from the container without letting O2 in to distort the flavor. The one thing I had not upgraded on was a conical burr grinder. I had read about them but hadn't tried it out. So, previously I used an inexpensive blade grinder and that was a big improvement from already ground coffee. If you are on the fence about this product, go ahead and get it. You won't regret it. You will have to adjust the grind to get a good fine, but not ultra fine (for espresso) grind. Let me tell you I couldn't believe that it really does make a better flavor than with the regular grinder. I don't know how it compares to electric burr grinders, but I am very pleased. The electric grinders are pretty expensive, and I don't want to grind that much bean a a time. This is just perfect in size to grind just enough to make my coffee. The only "bad" thing about it is that you manually have to turn the handle to grind, which is tedious and on a finer grind setting does take longer than with my previous electric blade grinder. The taste difference is worth it though. Maybe someday I will get an electric, but this works great for me in my home office and is much more cost effective.

I Like this Grinder so Much that I Bought a Second One for Work.
I've been through two electric burr grinders (both times the motors burned out) and was using a blade grinder (with inconsistent grind granularity) but read a very positive recommendation for this item on another website. This grinder has a capacity for grinding beans for up to 12 cups of coffee or for simply a single cup. I've never found it difficult/hard to grind with it, and it is simple to disassemble and clean. I've ground coarse for a french press and ground fine for a Melitta pour-over cup and it worked great each time. As I said in the title, I like this grinder so much that I've bought a second one for work, in addition to the one that I use at home.I have only two small quibbles. The knob on the handle could be a bit bigger/longer, my fingers do occasionally brush uncomfortably against the metal handle while grinding. The grind granularity is set by twisting a three sided nut/widget that holds the ceramic burrs together - spinning it clockwise results in a finer grind, but there's no actual indexing to immediately dial it in. I had to trial and error it until I got the correct grind.

Replacement for my 6 year Grinder
I had this exact model, in my office for 6 years. It worked flawlessly until I dropped it, and the bottom would no longer lock in place. The grinder continued to work in spite of my carelessness. I ended up just pulling the trigger and replacing it with a new one, since I had such a good experience with the original. Unit itself has adjustable grind, and can hold more than enough ground coffee to make coffee for 2-4 people. Adjusting the fine/coarse setting is simple and well marked, and the rest of the function is self explanatory. I've bought this unit twice and am considering buying another for my house.

Easy to use, faster than other grinders
This is my 3rd try at a manual grinder, I've been using it daily for about 3 weeks and am pleased. The other grinders that I've tried, if they work, take A LOT longer to grind the beans. I am able to grind enough for one cup in less the 5 minutes. I like that it's clear so I can see how much has been ground. The rubber grip in the center makes it comfortable to use. I've taken it apart one time for cleaning, and it was an easy task. The only con is that I have not been able to get it adjusted tight enough for a Turkish grind.

It's a good mill once you figure it out
You have to mess with the settings to get the grind you want. The instruction for this are also really cryptic. I It took me a bit to figure it out but it's not that hard. Wide open for coarse, fully closed for fine grind...everything in between you have to kind of figure it out. The really good think about this mill is that it is as uniform a grind as I have ever been able to get. I've ground for moka pot and for pour over without any issues.Update: Came to buy a second one for work and they aren't selling it at the moment! :(

Versatile
Easy to use and comfortable to hold. Seems sturdy so far. I've used it to grind coffee for my moka pot (fine) and Turkish coffee (extra fine) with good results - but it can do coarse grind as well and everything in between. Definitely takes a bit of muscle to use, but I guess most hand grinders do. If you're only grinding for one or two cups at a time and you want a grinder that is adjustable and can do a variety of grinds, I would recommend this one.

Italian perfection!
What an excellent product! It does take some elbow grease but then, you should expect that from a manual grinder! It is easier after using it daily for a few days. The long handle and large knob make it smooth to use, easy to fill with beans and to remove ground coffee. The grind is even and perfect for my moka pot! It takes me about 1.5 minutes to grind enough for my 6-cup moka. So pleased with the grinder and the value!

I expected better.
Body is made of cheap plastic that will most definitely crack within a year. The black soft plastic sleeve that fits over the waist of the grinder slides down when you hold it firmly and press downwards as you are grinding the beans. It's a hassle to have to keep sliding it back up into place after two or three batches, and if you don't it closes in over the mouth and makes it difficult to reattach the bottom cup. The grind is perfect for the Bialetti espresso maker though. And although I haven't timed it yet, I think it doesn't take much, if any, more time that it does with the electric Braun bean blaster that I was using. Considering the time it takes to uncoil the wire, wipe out the pot, grind for 12 to 15 seconds, fuss and fiddle around trying to get all the grinds out of the pot and into the cup on the espresso maker without making a mess, wipe out the pot again and stow the wire. The Hand-powered bean grinder is much simpler. Oh, and it doesn't wake everyone up early in the morning when I grind with this like like the BBB (Braun Bean Blaster) does.Edit September 2020:We are still using this bean grinder after more than two years of daily use. It is now time for a new one though. The bottom cup barely stays on now and that plastic sleeve just slides right down after only a few turns. Light roast coffee is a struggle to grind but dark roast isn't too bad. The quality of grind is still good though. The beans also get clogged up inside the burr and it takes a bit more time to knock the blockage loose at the end of the grind. I guess we got our money's worth out of it but I think we'll be looking at another brand to replace this one with.

Excellent, even grind :)
I've been using a dying automatic grinder that only produced coarse grind with fine grind mixed in regardless of the setting (slowly got worse over time). This thing arrived a couple days ago and since I've made french press coffee with almost no sediment, and my aeropress (medium-fine grind) just made it's first good cup of coffee in about 6 months :) I'm very pleased with the consistency of the grind, and the quality of my cup of coffee has immediately gone up.Only somewhat-negative thing: The instructions on how to set the grind (fine vs coarse) are pretty cryptic, you'll need to figure it out via trial & error but honestly it doesn't take like (like a few test rotations --> visually inspect --> adjust), will take a few minutes to figure out the correct setting for a new grind the first couple times you use it.

Good entry level grinder but prone to cracking in the middle
I got this to grind for my Moka pot and for cold brew. As far as grind quality goes it's pretty decent. It takes more effort at finer settings. It does tend to crack in the middle where the tabs are. I got a thin crack line fortunately it's not through and through the plastic. I discovered a solution for this common problem though. When you're grinding, the base of your palm will come into contact with the middle of the grinder band where it locks together. You simple cannot hold it only by the black part. Therefore what you need to do to not put stress on that plastic middle band is to simply orient the grinder so that the locking tabs face to your right and left and your palm contacts the empty plastic space between the tabs. This way you will not put pressure on the tab area but on the space between the tabs and voila problem solved cos this area is more able to take pressure with nothing to break. While grinding if it gets hard another trick is to a small reverse direction rotation on the crank very tiny but this helps stuck beans get out and grinding proceeds a bit smoother after this. After my use experience with this I intend to get a Helor 101 later on or equivalent hand grinder and reserve this as a spare or solely for cold brew grinding perhaps which doesn't create as much pressing stress on the body.

This manual grinder works great
I love this grinder! I have a 6 cup mocha pot and this grinder can grind more coffee then my pot could handle. The quality of grinds is consistent and the mechanism works as one would expect for a manual grinder. One thing to keep in mind. This is a manual grinder, and it takes a little effort to work the grinder. As the beans are being crushed the grinding action is not perfectly smooth.I would buy again, if required!
