Comparing NexTool
Comparing NexTool EDC keychain and Gerber Dime. I don’t like number rating so it’s all descriptive. Overall differences are more slight than pronounced (except for the scissors) . Both were $29 and arrived within 48 hours. NexTool about 2 5/8” closed. Dime is 2 3/4” closed including projecting bottle opener. Main body closed is about 1/4” less than that. NexTool has a textured handle for good grip. Tool finish is satin which kind of makes the metal feel cheap to me. Overall the blades are bigger than the Dime and seems like you could get a little more done with them beyond bare necessity. Scissors in particular are superior. File grain (coarse and fine) is significantly more pronounced than the Dime. Spring action of the NexTool pliers mildly less than Dime’s. Dime’s pliers are about 1-2mm thicker than NexTool. Overall Gerber feels more solidly built but NexTool’s tools seem more useful. One of these is for the car and one is for a weekend daypack.

Solid, strong, and small.
Better built than the online pictures indicate. I was looking for the smallest, strongest, lightest weight, with good scissors and pliers I could find. This is perfect. It is as small as it could be while still being large enough to be gripped well and function well. The blade is sharp and spring loaded pliers and scissors are terrific making use far more comfortable. Also, I'm not paying for extra attachments that take up space and drive up price. Very pleased.

the scissors add a lot of size and weight.
This is somewhere in quality between the now discontinued Leatherman PS4 and the Gerber Dime. The scissors on this make it bigger than I'd like, starting to edge in on full-multitool size but without the benefits of a full size tool. I like the pliers, I like the knife. The file is garbage, a nail file at best. I would prefer to have it smaller and have smaller scissors but this isn't a bad tool.

Best of the bunch. Ultimate small EDC.
I have bought just about every keychain EDC out there. My favorite was The L Squirt. Overall good and the file was its best feature. But L doesn’t make it anymore. . The G Dime was very disappointing. The only good thing on it was the bottle opener. The file was a joke. And it was a standard passable unit. I tried the NextTool MiniSailor which was a little heavy and was also passable. And the SOG PowerPint. Again, all of these just passable with the Squirt my favorite but with the usual limitation. Screwdrivers varied and had their weaknesses. And the scissors were pretty weak on most. All too short.I was looking around and came across this NextTool Pro and I’m so happy I did! My needs are a good blade, scissors and file. The scissors on this tool are the best of all the keychain models and better than some of my full-size EDC tools. Although the L Wave has a good pair. The scissors on this model are just exceptional and the long handles and long scissors cut through card stock and zip ties with ease. Also a big plus is the screwdrivers, file and the blade are much longer than all the other models. Makes working with them a lot easier. And be careful cuz this blade is really sharp. This is by far the best keychain EDC out there. Yes, it’s a bit more bulky than any of the others mentioned, but it has so many exceptional features that I’ll keep in my 5th pocket on my jeans and shorts. I am so happy I kept looking around. This keychain EDC is the best of the bunch far surpassing the others mentioned. It’s worth every bit even though it is just a bit more bulky. But not enough for me to keep in my pocket, even my gym shorts everyday.

Looks great and holds up after a year and a half.
I’m surprised this has been holding up for this long in terms of how great it looks after like a year and a half. No rusting, no marring, no scratches on the material, looks pristine after being jangled in my pockets and backpack for a whole. It does need to be lubricated but otherwise it’s exactly as advertised. It was stiff before i lubricanted it.

Poor quality
UPDATE 2025.02.07Nextool support did end up getting back to me and offered to replace or refund my multitool. I chose a replacement as I would like to see if the next one is any better than the first. They also explained that their response was delayed because most of the workforce is enjoying the Chinese Spring Festival, which is believable. Updating to 3 stars for now, with room for a fourth if the replacement tool is higher quality.ORIGINAL REVIEWThis is a cool-looking toy made of garbage quality metal, not a useful tool. I wanted to like it but I've been looking for a keychain multi-tool, not a paperweight. The first time I tried to use the pliers they snapped in half (see photo). I've been using pliers for a very long time and have never broken a pair.I contacted Nextool via their website chatbot and they told me to email their "amazon team". That email didn't get a response at all. In good faith, I tried one more time by emailing Nextool and their "amazon team" together, offering one more chance for them to provide some tiny shred of customer support. Again, no response.I recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere, on a tool that is not junk from a company that stands by their products.

Should be in your pocket.
Tiny for factor with preforming way above its weight class. Pliers and excellent scissors are the highlights of this tool.
