Briidea Doorbell Extender - Converts Wired Doorbell to Wireless, 21 Melodies, 500' Range, 105dB for Garage, Basement

This wireless doorbell and transmitter kit makes it easy to extend your existing wired doorbell system into other rooms. The small transmitter unit is powered by two AAA batteries, which are not included. Once the batteries are installed under the slide open compartment, the unit can be mounted with the included basic hardware. Three wires come out of the transmitter that attach to the wiring of an existing doorbell. Instructions are included, but essentially the wires attach onto the Common wire terminal, and onto the Front and Rear (if applicable) terminals. They are connected in parallel with the existing house doorbell wires. Once it's connected, it sends a wireless signal to the remote electronic doorbell that's part of this kit. That unit can be mounted or it can sit on a shelf. It plugs into a standard AC electrical outlet, no batteries needed. The unit has a loud electronic speaker inside that makes an alert when the remote unit is triggered from a doorbell press. It has up and down volume buttons on it, and a tone selector button to choose one of 21 different ringing tones or songs. The range is listed as up to 500" between the transmitter and base, but I cannot confirm this. I would expect it will cover an average sized house, but walls, appliance and other material may greatly reduce the range. It works flawlessly in an old farmhouse though two walls and at a distance of about 35". The unit is loud in my opinion, and it claims the output can be as loud as 105db.

Piece of junk. Bought it in August 2024 and continued problems after about a month. At first unplugging and then plugging it in again seemed to reset it, but now (May 2025) even that doesn't work. Problem is you don't know it doesn't work until it's supposed to and doesn't. You reset it and it seems fine.You don't realize it doesn't work again until the next visitor. Completely unreliable! Does not work!

My husband ordered this for us and it's perfect to hear the door bell. I love the various music and the fun one is from the little mermaid I believe since christmas is over. Either way it's perfect ,especially if you live in a town home where in our offices we can't hear the doorbell, Now we can. It's fun, worth the money and so easy to install :)

The doorbell extender works as I would expect. It was easy to install but if I were to design the product I would make it easier to change the batteries on the unit that attaches to the existing doorbell. You have to unscrew four (4) tiny screws on the Transmitter to access the battery compartment. This could be very difficult to do while the Transmitter is still connected to the doorbell. I think it would have been better to have an opening that snaps into place and just be able to drop in the new batteries. I hope my batteries have a long life because of the difficulty in replacing them. I also wish the Extender had the electrical plug as part of the Extender unit rather than an 18" cord that plugs in to the outlet. The optional melodies give you a nice choice for notifications and the volume control can be adjusted loud enough that I can hear the Extender in most rooms in my home. I would recommend this product as long as you don't mind dealing with the difficult access to the batteries in the Transmitter.

I don’t think my doorbell has rung since I installed but I tested and I am sure will help me hear bell when I’m in back of house

The item does work but it randomly goes off. The chime will sound at various times day or night without the doorbell being pushed. Very obnoxious at 3 am.

Based on the information on this listing and other reviews, I bought this thinking it would work for my house. I have old wiring for a doorbell, but have a newer doorbell that plays melodies. I have to have a diode installed on one of my buttons for my regular doorbell to work. Because of this diode, the extender doesn't work because it can't correctly sense when the button is pushed. So the information for this should also state that it doesn't (or at least may not) work on doorbells that play melodies. The instructions that came with it actually state "The transmitter only works with standard wired doorbells that play a "ding" or "ding-dong" sound. It does not work with intercom or video doorbells". And I add - "or melody doorbells".
