.com After Rocky and its sequels, Sylvester Stallone cast about for another character that would bring him the same kind of box-office hit--and found it in disillusioned Vietnam vet John Rambo in First Blood, a solid little action thriller. So when all else failed, Stallone went back to the same well in hopes of recapturing the same commercial success. Which this film did. But where First Blood was a no-nonsense thriller that pitted Stallone against a worthy (and not necessarily bad) Brian Dennehy, this one is a sadistic chest-thumper in which Rambo gets to go back to Vietnam: ostensibly, he's there to rescue missing POWs, but in fact the movie was a lame excuse for him to refight the Vietnam War--and win. Audiences ate up the cruel Vietcong (and their Russian manipulators) and Stallone's bogus heroics, but it was strictly by-the-numbers action. --Marshall Fine

My all-time favorite Rambo movie and one of y favorite movies ever!
Best Rambo movie yet! Rambo First Blood Part II is even more action packed than the first movie that expands on the Rambo and Trautman characters. The supporting characters are great (Co, Murdock, the Russian military leader, etc.) and add to the awesomeness of the movie. The movie takes place 3 years after First Blood when Rambo is in Prison, Trautman brings him out to find P.O.W.s in Vietnam. From there, the action builds up, right from when Rambo gets stuck on the plane. The character development is great and you feel really sad for Co and Rambo when Co dies. The Russians and Vietnamese are great. Trautman is fantastic once again. Murdock and his crew are good. This movie also starts off the "one-man army" idea when Rambo single-handedly takes out the entire Russian and Vietnamese military there with a little help, but he does most of the work. There are also many great quotes from the movie as well, such as: "Murdock. Murdock, I'm coming to get you.", "You know there's more men out there, you know where they are. Find them, or I'll find you.", "How will you live?" "Day by day.", "What you call Hell, he calls home.", "I'm expendable.", and many other great quotes. The soundtrack is epic and heroic sounding. Rambo also extends his killing methods, my favorite kill from the movies being the one where he hides in the mud and strikes from behind. Another cool kill is when he pulls the guy into the rocks. In the end, the soundtrack, Rambo's heroism, the ending saving the P.O.W.s, and Rambo's speech: "I want what they want, and what every other guy who came over here, who spilled his guts, and gave everything he had wants, for our country to love us, as much as we love it. That's what I want.", and many other reasons, give this movie a very patriotic feel to it. It's my favorite '80s action movie and one of my favorite movies ever that I can watch all the time and never get bored of it. I recommend anyone to buy Rambo First Blood Part II, because it gives you the feeling of who the character is. When it's over, you can't help feeling patriotic. The movie is very re-watchable and entertaining and I highly recommend it!

Good 4k transfer
Good transfer like most movies from this time period. There are going to be scenes with grain and their are scenes that look super clean. You live with it or you don't. Digital code worked not expired.

Stalone is amazing
It's not Shakespeare, it corny, over blown, silly-but highly entertaining. Stallone's alter ego Rambo has entered the collective consciousness. His slurred speech, always compelling. He's a cartoon character that's larger than life without being too ridiculous-well maybe he is ridiculous but in a charming way. The plot is not important, bad guys with undefined foreign accents, rebel camps deep in the jungles, explosions, lots of gun fire with over sized weapons, muzzle flash with cartridges flying in the air. The simplistic cathartic joy of American action movies... that life was so simple
