If you have Alexa, setup is so simple! After attaching the 3 wires to the plug, simply open the Alexa app. It automatically found the device and labeled the top and bottom plug individually. Using Alexa, you can turn it on and off and set a schedule.

I use this to power my landscape lighting transformer. Previous to this I used a smartplug to run the scheduled on-off. The existing outlet on my small entryway didn't have a rain enclosure and by using a smartplug there wasn't enough room install one. While rain hasn't caused an issue yet, I was always concerned. Sometimes the rain would blow into the entryway. This resolved that issue by being able to remove the smartplug and installing this in-wall outlet. Installation was easy (just make sure you flip the circuit breaker) and I used the ENERLITES Extra-Duty Weatherproof Enclosure, also from Amazon, to protect if from the rain.The plug connected instantly to the Amazon app and my wi-fi, and hasn't had any connection issues even though it's outside and essentially encased in the brick wall of my home. I changed my routine to use this outlet and everything works as I hoped for. It's now been raining for several days and no problems. Very pleased.

Works great! Installation was a little tricky for me but I did get it done pretty easily once I got the wires where they needed to be. It connected really quickly to my Alexa and WiFi. It was a little bigger in size than the outlet I changed it out with but I got it to fit. The control and turn off option on the phone is awesome and easy to set up.

The outlet wired easily and worked seamlessly with Alexa once installed . I have new glass door cabinets in my kitchen, which I am crazy in love with, but the old electrical setup only provided an outlet inside the cupboards, with no switch to operate. Since the upper cabinets are nine feet off the ground having no switch made the lighting virtually inoperable until we got this smart plug. Now I have beautifully lit upper kitchen cabinets to showcase my pretty colored glass dishes, and all I have to do is tell Alexa to turn the lights on or off. BTW, there is an on/off button built right into the plug if it is needed, but for me, simply having the voice control allows my tall uppers to be beautifully and conveniently lit. LOVE IT!

Don’t waste your time and money on these cheaply made outlets!!! I have somewhere around 125 unique smart devices of all different makes linked to my Amazon Alexa account. Needless to say I know what I’m doing when installing and programming smart devices to Alexa. I bought one of these outlets to test them out, and it worked perfectly at first. I ended up purchasing another one a short time later which almost immediately became unresponsive. I returned it for a new one and installed that one which failed after a couple weeks time. The original plug that I bought ended up working for the longest period of time, around 5-6 months, but it also ultimately failed. Even after doing a hard reset they do not work. Alexa initially sees them, but is unable to control them and becomes unresponsive a short time later.
