Labyrinth of Birth: Creating a Map, Meditations and Rituals for Your Childbearing Year

If you are looking for some guidance on understanding and creating your own labyrinth (or in this case - Laborinth of Birth) this is a good book. If your mentor (if you are taking the Birthing from Within class) has a copy you can use theirs - it's personal preference whether or not you have your own copy. I am a book lover and in finally having a successful pregnancy was curious about this book and in understanding a labyringth of birth. I took a Birthing from Within class with my husband and we really enjoyed it. Creating ritual, meditation and a Laborinth of Birth was important to me.

Only on the first few pages and I’m loving the information being presented, I’m looking forward to implementing this into my birthing experience.

Such a great book for pregnancy and birthing time. I recommend it to all my friends who get pregnant.

Clearly written, enjoyable to read. Gives new aspects on birth from a wider cultural perspective, from conception to about three years after delivery.

I really like that there are practices in this book for an expectant family to do, creative and loving ways to experience the miracle of birth.

AWESOME BOOK

This is a book about labyrinths and their history and their relevant relationship to birth.It would suit people interested in ancient symbols and those people wanting a more spiritual and meditative way to prepare for birth.I think parents who enjoy drawing and sculpting with their children would get a lot of value from it too.

I've been waiting for this to come out (actually had to order from Birthing From Within because Amazon lost faith that it was ever coming) and it's worth it! This is a valuable resource for mothers, fathers, and doulas, childbirth educators, nurses, doctors, etc. There are lots of great ideas for how to use the labyrinth as a metaphor for labor, birth, and parenting - and clear instructions on how to draw, sculpt, or construct small labyrinths for personal use. There's also a good but not overwhelming amount of background cultural and archeological information. Get it! It's good!
