Q: How quickly will it make small or large repairs on your RC plane when you are out in the field flying

Typically will tack up within 5 to 10 minutes but my experience is it's fully dry and ready for use after 24 hours of curing. You'll may be better off to find a foam adhesive that has an activator that will allow you to immediately use it within a few minutes for field repairs.

Q: What is the shelf life of the mini tubes?

shelf life , as long as i have been using foam tac it last from year to year , at least 2 years . after opening it will last a long time over 6 months . the best thing about the small tubes over the larger containers is after you open the larger foam tac is it turns thicker and it doesn't flow as easy . sometimes it turns hard and is useless.for that reason i only buy the small tubes .

Q: If i use this to attach my apprentice plane's fire wall, will i be able to pry it loose again in the future if i have to remove the firewall again?

if you apply it right it will bind the foam and be as strong as any glue or CA that you can fine . read the HH manual you can also use CA on their RC planes . one of my planes ( Maule ) was in an air to air hit that ripped it beyond repair . i ordered a new Maule , the next day i foam tac all the pieces together . it flies just like new . Foam tac is amazing try it on two pieces of foam . it will be hard to pull it apart where glued . i've fixed many planes at the field where i fly .
