I had bought another brand that had cost me about half the price of this pair, for a pair as well. We used them once and it was immediately clear that we needed more protection from the force of a solid punch. I decided to raise my extra low budget for a more quality product. I found these and after about an hour of comparison shopping, with so many different variants of what is essentially the same thing, I decided to get these. When they arrived I was pleasantly surprised that they were even more quality than I had expected. My son and I spar frequently and these were perfect for that type of physical activity. Of course I had to beat him down, but he had no injuries, as these headgear were padded perfectly. 100% would buy again and refer these to anyone in need of a fantastic value.

I had my sons try them and give me an opinion. Both said overall great product. Padding could be thinker especially around the ear. But 2 at this price you cant beat it. If your shopping on a budget this is a good buy.

These fit nicely and aren’t very heavy or bulky. These definitely provide the expected protection you need when sparring. These are very well built.

My 12 year old loves these! He is always wanting to box around and play and these are the perfect gift for boys who like to box! We love these!!

These need some more padding, they don’t help quite nearly enough

Are you just doing backyard sparring with a friend? Then this headgear is the best bang-for-your-buck headgear on Amazon!Pros: Its padding for the cheek bones fits us perfectly. This headgear serves perfectly for light sparring, or just as a spare lying around. THIS HEADGEAR WORKS ONLY FOR AMATEUR AND TRAINING PURPOSES! I've literally bought this headgear 3 separate times for my buddies and I as we only box each other for fun, and this headgear is completely functional for that purpose and doesn't burn a hole through our pockets.Cons: Minimal ear/chin protection, might be looser on smaller heads - if you're under 150lbs, you might want to look for something else, kind of hard to strap in by yourself (but you have a sparring partner for that)

My only issue with these is that the Velcro sticks to my daughter hair so I have to make sure she has a beanie on. But other than that my girls put them in when they need to get some frustration out with one another. But in a safer way.
