Sound Investment
I have worked professionally with public speakers for nearly 40 years on conventions, political rallies and meetings of all sorts. During that time I have listened to the presenters on monitors provided by the best audio technicians in the meeting and convention business. I know what good audio sounds like. The BlaidsX Pro BTE were the hearing aids I selected to try, and they have gone beyond my expectations. The sound quality is spot on. The directional source of sound is precise. I chose the replaceable battery model because of my experience with professional sound technicians and their preferred use of batteries. I get six days from the batteries, and have two batteries always nearby so I don't miss a sound. At current prices I figure about $25.00 a year for batteries. The fact is this review should have been written weeks ago, but I've been too busy listening. The quality takes you by surprise. It sounds natural, not amplified, which is the goal of professional audio reinforcement. Since I do a fair amount of public speaking, I was delighted that I sounded like I always have to myself and to others. The television volume has been turned up for several years. With these aids the volume is turned way down. That did create a curious issue. Being used to loud TV, the notion that the volume should be increased was an early reaction, but every word was clear, so with some change of habit, the sound remains much lower. The various settings for different conditions are very helpful, especially "Indoor" for noisy restaurants, and "outdoor" for noisy stadiums. I've used both and could hold a conversation with someone three or four people separated from me. The noise cancellation is terrific.I live in a big city so there was some difficulty using app's hearing test. The first was interrupted by Mister Softee, a few others by loud car radios or just plain loud cars. On a visit to friends in a rural area I got the quiet I needed to get the best test.Other things which may concern you. Great technical support, literally 24/7. I wear glasses, these are relatively small and don't cause a problem with glasses. If vanity is a concern for you, these are not likely to be noticed by very many people. The price is outstanding. They come nicely packaged. It would have been helpful for some help in how to choose the piece that goes in your ear (there are 5 ends included) especially for first-timers like me, but I settled quickly on the ones I have stuck with. Now why the title for this review. It goes back to the familiar saying, "Happy wife, happy life." For several years my response to virtually everything my wife said was , "what"? That went away the moment I put on these hearing aids. This sound investment leads to a "happy life." If you're not hearing what you should, make a sound investment and get Blaids today.

Bad product that doesn't work.
I have bought them for my dad, who spent significant time trying to make them work, telling me about multiple random problems either with sound quality or something not working or uncontrolled beeping. So I took them to try to set them up myself. I have degree in engineering and pretty comfortable with software. I spent 5 hours trying to make them to work and, unfortunately, its a bad product that is more like a first prototype, developed by group of university students, rather than complete market ready solution, that can be used by people.Right ear doesn't work. It has multiple problems with connectivity, even when I follow "reconnect" instructions multiple times and try to do a workaround. Even if I am able to connect it them to Bluetooth via the app, hearing test works on left one, but I wasn't able to make it work on the right ear. No matter what I tried. Left ear "kinda" works... but it is in no way "easy" to set it up. It has metalic undertone, random beeping that I couldn't stop. And not a very good sound overall.Additionally, whoever is that software genius that made the app (AcoSound) has never heard about different mobile platforms to test it on. Entire design on IoS (IPhone) is completely messed up, because it was very obviously only made for Android.Overall, had I been university professor, I would have graded that as A- for a month-long engineering project, as its a good test-prototype, with some problems that can be fixed. But by no means this is a market-ready product that is worth literally anything.

Great product and support for the price!
I had been trying to find hearing aids that I could program myself on an Android phone, answer and talk without taking my phone out of my pocket, and stream from my phone or computer via Bluetooth.I did an evaluation on some $2,600 ones from Costco, but I found that they work better on an iPhone, and you need an Apple device to program them. I could answer and hear, but had to pull my phone from my pocked since I could only talk back using my Android phone mic. Also, streaming through hearing aids give very poor quality.Mostly, I really only needed hearing aids to hear other people so I decided to:1) Get a Samsung smart watch to answer and talk while my phone is in my pocket or another room.2) Forget hearing aid streaming and just use headphones for MUCH better sound quality.3) Get hearing aids that use an Android phone app so I can program it myself. For such a reasonably price, I was pleasantly surprised to find these to be have good enough quality to hear, understand conversations, and also have great tech support.Being a retired IT guy, I wanted to test my own hearing, program and make adjustments myself.Since the Blaids Mobile App has a hearing test and controls, I don't need an audiologist to do the testing & make adjustments. You create your own audiogrhams with the tests, and upload yours or an audiogram made from a professional (however, Costco could only give me a printed version of the one they made).I never wear hearing aids with headphones on my PC, but I found on-the-ear headphones fit nicely below the hearing aid mic without feedback, and I can hear my wife, room noise, not to be confused :-), and PC at the same time. Now she doesn't have to flick the lights to get my attention. She likes it.Support is VERY responsive, and they help you through the issue until it is solved. On more than one occasion, the support manager quickly responded to my messages at ~10:30 pm his time, don't know when he sleeps. While these don't have the build quality and all the features of the ones I had been paying $6k for in the past, they are very adequate for the tasks, and I was surprised at the quality of the hearing aids, support and app features at this price.P. S. I have an odd shaped right ear canal and was having some difficulty with the right tube staying in. My previous hearings aids used wires and fit better. I'm sure support could have solved the issue, but after discussing the differences and benefits of an upgrade to BlaidsX Neuro Rechargable RIC I have decided to upgrade. I like them even better!Note: If you are a Vet you may get a military discount if you buy from Blaids directly, but not from AMZ.
