I'm 5'6" 135 to140 LB Ordered size small. It is very light, warm and comfortable also a bit roomier than TNF flare jacket around hips n bodyWhen I took it out of the bag it was flat like TNF flare jacket but wearing it for a while it was getting puffy. I'm a golfer and I would recommend it for a winter golf jacket will cover 30°s temp I guarantee it. Over all 4 stars from me cuz it looks great n everything but feathers come out ha ha

As my husband has grown older, he's been complaining about his favorite winter jacket being too heavy and clumsy to wear and zip. So, after looking at TONS of jackets on line and finally finding this one - which doesn't come with an attached hood (yeah!!!!), I decided to order one for him, despite the price. Afterall, there's nothing lighter weight than down!!! As said in the headline, he loves it. He was wearing it within minutes of receiving it and hasn't looked back at the old one. I want to thank the gentleman who reviewed this jacket and said he was about 5'10" and 210........that's a description of my husband to a T. This info helped me decide what size to order....an XL. It fits him perfectly. Reading reviews, good and bad, really pays off!! Thanks!

I had this jacket before and loved it! I bought it again and it seems exactly the same as the old one. The only visible difference I notice is that there is no inside pocket that I coveted, and they added a draw string at the bottom.It is wind resistant as I live in the Bay Area and I zip up when the wind kicks up at sunset and feel protected. North Face added a draw string at the bottom which is a nice addition to have in windy conditions.The zipper quality might have been slightly higher in my old jacket, as it seems like the zippers pinch the fabric if I do not zip up carefully. However, it is not a deal breaker.I will not make the same mistake of having it dry cleaned this time. I made that mistake with my old jacket and it altered the color: the black faded to a grey with a reddish undertone. I read the care instructions on the label and it said ‘machine wash’ in warm/cool water in gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat. It is meant to be washed and not dry cleaned.Primarily, I had to buy a new one because I cannot wear faded clothes at work.This jacket became a staple in my wardrobe for years and I highly recommend!It is true to size.
