TuffyLocking Console Insert for Ford F-150 (2021–2023) – Steel Security Safe for OEM Center Console with Anti-Twist Lock and Hidden Storage Compartment

Solid fits well. Bit tricky to install.

The install went okay as it is a tight area to try to manipulate the pieces, screw and screw driver. The install took me about a half hour beginning to end, but someone a bit more handy probably could knock 10 to 15 minutes off that. The fit was tight, the top and materials seem sturdy. Although a pry bar would likely make quick work of this, it seems well made enough to deter the casual and unprepared. I am very happy at the price point. Question: how does it fit the 2022 Ford F-150, and the answer is: very well, no gaps, no rattle, no movement. It's in there tight.

This did exactly what I wanted it to do -- added a secured area in my center console. Fit was perfect and it appears to be well designed and built. I did end up switching out the locking mechanism for another system as I found the key to be cumbersome and, especially in an emergency, I didn't want to have to rely on it.

I installed my first Tuffy console safe in my 2022 F150 Tremor today and here is my feedback. I give it 3 stars for the thickness of the metal, the tight fit in the console, and the easy installation. I left off 2 stars for a few reasons. The combination lock that's sold separately for $35 seems overpriced for what it is. Instead of a spring loaded door hinge, this safe uses a slotted slide-arm that holds the door up with friction. Problem is, the same amount of tension needed to adequately hold the door open also slows down the opening of it. Also, it would be nice if they drilled out a small hole above the console usb jack for running a charger cord through the top of the safe. If you don't drill your own hole, use of the console usb will be limited to the inside of the safe only. And finally, the door hinge sits too far back on the top of the safe and the safe door hits the console lid before it's fully open. I would rather sacrifice an inch of the opening so the safe door will open a full 90 degrees. None of the cons are absolute deal killers, but a bit more attention to detail would make this brand safe #1 in the industry. All that said this safe is still one of the top three brands available.

I installed what I thought was a good product. Tonight cowardly car thief’s in San Antonio, Texas broke into my truck. The tried to pry the safe open, and the lock actually stayed shut. However, when that did not work, you can see they just pried around it, got it loose, and just ripped it out and threw it in the passenger floor. Luckily, nothing of value was in it. Still, probably have thousands of dollars in damage to my door, window, and the entire center console. They also just cut the horn wires, so the alarm would not sound. This is not a good product. The console area around it is not reinforced at all. You can see how easily they got it out in the pictures. I should have just left it open. Then there would not have been as much damage. Beware!!!!

Installation was a little more difficult than the instructions made out. Working in a small space and at weird angles made getting some of the screws seated a little tricky. That said, you only have to install it once and it provides protection for your items for the life of the vehicle.A would-be-thief would have to work pretty hard to get through this. I wouldn't stop someone with time and tools, but for a simple theft it will do the job.

Fit in my 2022 Ford Tremor just fine. A little hard to install. I watched a video on how to install the safe and it made it much easer to install than the instructions.
