Highly Recommended Family Game - Simple Rules yet so tactical
My wife and I love to play complex board games as we do enjoy the puzzling aspect and how it stimulates our brain into thinking about how to be efficient. This game is not something we would think of playing, but I personally purchase this for a couple of reasons. First, we do like Trekking The World as it reminds us of several other games we like, combine into one. So we decided to pick this up expecting it won't disappoint. And second, we need more welcoming games and we could pull out in case our family members wished to play.We played this game more than 5x now as it becomes my niece's favorite. She was not a board gamer but she enjoys the puzzle aspect of the game, especially in fulfilling your itinerary. This is not the game my wife and I would think of playing together, but I rated this as a 5-star as it really delivers as a family (lightweight) game. That even non-gamers or casual gamers would enjoy and would make them more interested in discovering what board gaming has to offer.Component-wise, I personally am so fascinated with the production quality. This was the first board game I had with a neoprene mat, and best of all, it does have a functional insert to store the components. Hand's down a top-notch production. I wish this would be the norm for all board games.Again, as a heavy gamer, though not the game I would always prefer playing, I'd still highly recommend this for families who want to play something fast, and simple yet offers a good amount of decision space.

Great game
Honestly quite fun! This is a great game for game nights with family and friends. It doesn't rely on history knowledge so much, on the contrary, it actually helps you learn and even provides fun facts. Pretty good, not too hard to learn

A good time
This game was so much fun and will be played many more times. I love that it also included solo rules and expansion rules. I also appreciate that the box was designed for all the parts to fit securely in their own slots. It’s probably the best designed box I’ve ever encountered.

Grows along with family.
Birthday gift for grandson 10. Family loves the games- steep learning curve on game play but will keep interest for years to come.

Homeschooling win, so many ways to play.
Tonight we played Underdog's new game, Trekking Through History. It took a solid hour and a half plus to play the game, maybe closer to 2. It can easily be divided into 3 nights though, without leaving a major monopoly level mess on your table. We all enjoyed it, and learned new facts. There are several different approaches to strategy that can be used to win the game/points. It's also easy enough to modify as a collaborative if playing for win isn't your thing. Or, to not count points at all at the end and play to learn. I definitely don't feel guilty counting it towards school because of the various forms of education involved in this (strategy for math, timeline work for math and history, historical information, and reading). You could easily play this as a family game and then prompt kids to pick a card they played that they want to learn more about and research it for the upcoming week and share what they learned diving deeper into that history card. There is a video link included in the game for how to play, about a 10 minute watch, but does an amazing job relaying instructions. Says 10 and up, and my 10 year old played independently the first time around. You could easily partner with a younger child and play with littles easily, though the attention span/love of history would be the thing to be mindful of. It's not a fast paced game. Not everyone is playing to the same strategy, and because there are so many ways to win, there is no incentive to keeping your next move hush hush, allowing you to easily talk through game play with a younger kid wanting to learn. 10/10, recommend

Buy, play, and never look back!
I just received this game today from Amazon as part of a pre order. While I have not played the game, yet…let me tell you about the contents. The box is built heavy duty style; will hold up great over the generations (trekking through history, ancestors, generations-see what I did there). Anyways, all the cards have a linen finish to them which I love; it makes the game feel like a high end quality game. The center board for the time clock is thick and not easy to bend. You would literally need to force it to bend. The tokens are detailed. I always love that the trekking games have a container with a lid on it for all the pieces once you take them out. The mat that is also used to play is like a huge mouse pad. Idk how else to explain it. The rubber on the bottom and this silky screen print on top. I think it will hold up better than the normal “card board” versions of gams. And the cards?!!!! What can I say, the graphics are absolutely gorgeous!!! I can never say enough about their cards.I bought Trekking the World bc I live traveling and it is my favorite game to date. The other reason i bought it was when I looked it up, the cards designs and graphics were bar none. It feels like being there. When it came to trekking through history I was going to pass on it because I am not a history person at all. But when i watched a clip and it showed the cards it sold me. Between the graphics again and the great company who made the world version, this solidified me on purchasing this game. I know I will find many things to like about this game as the history pieces are short blurbs of information and great graphics to make the learning experience an actual fun one!Even if you’re not a history person buy this game. I bet you’ll find out you’ll like it! Or you can always buy my favorite game first…Trekking the World!
