Lots of Misinformation Here
The OEM fan that this is a direct replacement for was originally a 7 blade fan. The new one is a 3 blade. While slightly noisier, it does have better airflow. Having used Nidec in the past on medical and test equipment, I've never had a failure before, but I also haven't placed one in a high humidity low temperature environment before. I'm surprised at this application as it really does seem a weak point in the system, and it's probably good to have a spare one on hand. Replacement is easy enough and no need to remove the housing that holds the fan. It can be removed by just pulling it forward enough to access. This would normally be a $300 or more repair job from a tech so this is a bargain for just a few minutes of time.

June 2, 2025 - replaced OEM fan that had failed after 5 years and 10 months. I'll update this review if I have any problems. It's not any louder than the OEM fan was, but this fridge had numerous reviews complaining about the noise level, so take that into consideration. There are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to replace this fan. It's really very simple. Take your time removing the evaporator coil cover AND putting it back in.

This fan is NOT an upgrade nor an OEM as advertised. It doesn't even fit and seat properly in the GE fridge as intended and the wiring are not compatible with the fridge model. this fan unit does NOT communicate with the fridge motherboard properly. It is incompatible with the fridge model as intended and specified, runs very loud and non-stop in high mode and doesn't stop when fridge temperature is reached as set. I had to return it and purchase a true OEM.

A little effort is required to install the fan, but it works fine and fixed the problem.
Getting to the fan inside the back of the refrigerator required removal of shelves and drawers, so this required some effort. The actual fan installation was easy.

Not OEM but fits and works well.
A bit misleading with their advertising, this does not match the original OEM fan I pulled out, but if fits perfect and works well. It is a bit noisier than the original fan, but that's because the old fan wasn't spinning fast enough to properly cool everything on the top shelves. Now my fridge stays cool evenly throughout, so I'm happy.
