Inexpensive comms
This is my third Sena10R comms unit, having bought a dual set about 7 years ago that have served us well until the rubber (?) cover on the control switch broke up exposing a circuit board to the elements. This is a basic model, easy to fit and operate, with Bluetooth conversation between rider and pillion ok to about 65mph, speech beyond that is pretty indistinguishable because of wind noise. It also provides satnav directions, good telephone audio, and music off your phone, I haven’t tried the FM radio. As with all comms correct positioning of the earpieces is vital for good performance. Updates are done via a computer, and aren’t too difficult.

Good but many flaws
Have bought the unit earlier in the year ahead of a motorcycle trip from Bilbao back home to the UK. Installation pretty easy, fits into most helmets. But there are some issues that make me consider buying a new, different brand, headset. So let's start1) RangeI believe the claim is 'up to 900 meters' of connectivity. Reality is that, in open field, it is closer to 200m which is a huge difference. Also, that is line of sight so when you don't see your counterpart it is very likely that you also cannot communicate. Furthermore, we had 3 headsets connected with one being the host. And if that host happens to be more than 200m away from the whole group, the whole network collapses. We had an incident where our host took the wrong exit on the motorway leading to the issue that the remaining 2 riders could not talk to each other any longer.2) ConnectivityPairing the devices is pretty straight forward. That said, we experienced a recurring issue where the 3rd party joining the host was always significantly muted to the point that the host could not hear him whilst the connection to the 2nd rider was perfect.3) SetupHaving the battery compartment separate from the unit is a pain in the bum. Also that you cannot charge the battery directly with the need to go through the comms unit.4) Battery LifeIs okay with ca 10hrs. That said, when the indicator suggests 1/2 full don't rely on it. 1/2 full meant across all 3 headsets we used about 30mins left so charging every evening is mandatory.
