it's super easy to set up
Until purchasing this TeckNet keyboard and mouse combo pack I'd previously been using a wired set at work - which is always a bit of a pain when in meetings or working from home (like today). I can get by on most occasions using the laptop keys and trackpad, but I find it a lot easier and faster to get work done on a full size keyboard.Seeing the low price of this wireless set I thought I'd give it a go - and since then I've actually retired my wired set to a drawer.First of all, it's super easy to set up. After adding batteries (2x AA in the keyboard, 2x AAA in the mouse - not included), I simply plugged in the usb nano receiver, turned on the switch on the reverse of the mouse and within a couple of seconds it was up and running. I'm currently typing this with the keyboard and mouse paired with my Chromebook, so it's not only Windows compatible :)Build quality is much better than you'd expect for the price. On first use the keys felt a tiny bit 'mushy' and a couple of times it failed to pick up letters, but after a few hours typing these issues were no longer apparent - so don't be put off by initial impressions. The hotkeys at the top (standard fare, browser, email, audio and so) are a nice addition - although I would have liked to have seen the calculator added to the list. Surprisingly, the majority of these keys also worked on ChromeOS as well as Windows. The mouse feels great to use, and has a DPI switch to set the speed. No complaints here at all. When it drops into sleep mode after being left a few minutes idle, it wakes again immediately upon moving the roller wheel or clicking a button. I would have preferred a matte finish so that it was less of a finger-print magnet, but of course this minor personal preference doesn't affect its otherwise perfect performance. The only faults I can pick (and they are *very* minor) are that only the mouse has an on-off switch, so I'm not sure how much additional battery the keyboard will drain when not used (waiting to be woken), and the keys and mouse clicks are a little noisy compared to more expensive alternatives. Oh, and the glaring omission of a caps-lock light. However, for the price this really is a fantastic purchase and great value. In conclusion, this wireless set has made my day job a lot less fiddly when working away from my desk, and both are very comfortable to use on a daily basis. If you are looking for a decent, cheap and frustration-free wireless mouse and keyboard combo, then I'd recommend giving this one a shot.Comes with 18+6 months warranty.

well made and works perfectly
I'm always impressed with TechNet quality and packaging when the goods arrive. The packaging is perfectly sized and simple. The keyboard and mouse are a great buy. I was using it in seconds. The mouse takes 2 x AAA batteries and the keyboard takes 2 AA batteries, which are not included. The USB dongle is hidden inside the mouse and once plugged in to the computer it controls both the keyboard and the mouse. This has freed up a spare UBS port for me, which is great. The only comment I would make, is that windows 10 recognises a new USB and you have to click on a button to accept or block the new USB. It was handy therefore to keep the old wired mouse in whilst setting up so that this onscreen button could be pressed. Of course if you have a touch screen, it will cause you no issue. The keyboard is smooth to use and the keys feel quite cushioned. The mouse is slightly smaller than I would call full size, but its shape fits well in to the hand and I've found both work smoothly. The reaction of the mouse was very good. To save battery it switches off when not in use, so you need to click it to awaken.I found the hot keys particularly useful. The volume and mute buttons especially.A well made product and a good buy for the money.

Overall decent quality and good value wireless keyboard / mouse combination
I purchased this keyboard specifically for use with the Raspberry Pi and it worked first time perfectly although I had some difficulty with the keyboard mapping. The keyboard appears to be a different layout than UK, suspect US. Functionally the keyboard works well and has a reasonable feel, the mouse has a decent resolution and a nice feel to it. The media keys appear only to work with windows o/s and not the RPi... which is understandable and also I assume they must be hard-coded to perform specific functions and launch specific apps... I can't immediately see a way to reprogram these even under W7. Finally the Caps Lock light is so dim as to be almost unusable and as I have only had the product for 4 months, battery life cannot be properly judged, hopefully for at least another year. The delivery from BlueByte was efficient and quick with adequate but not over the top packaging. One small issue I encountered, and this is potentially a hardware or o/s native driver specific issue. I used this keyboard to scratch install Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 on a Dell Studio 540s. The installation hung several times after 15 mins or so, cannot remember the exact failure point. I had previously installed the same o/s on this PC and eventually started to suspect the keyboard as this was the only change of hardware. Changed to a wired keyboard and voila, the install succeeded first time. After W7 installed correctly, the TeckNet keyboard works perfectly so this issue only relates to the install process. In summary a minor gripe and probably specific to the hardware o/s combination, but one to be aware of.For the price, at the time £10, you absolutely cannot beat this keyboard/mouse combination. I have given a 4 Star rating due to the US layout (not stated up front), limited documentation and the issues with W7 install.
