Great system, but it does require training to get very good results
This is a great professional and home system. It can sharpen your knife to below 100 BESS and when you get experienced enough - even razor sharp at 50 BESS. It saves a lot of time - compared to the water stones, which are like ancient history. However getting better on this system takes time and watching a lot of utube. So do a LOT of training on cheap knives before you proceed on sharpening your expensive knives. You should train on at least 20 blades, before doing any expensive knife. Also I highly recommend taking the 4000 grit japanese water stone. It is a GAME CHANGER!! Without it - I'm able to reach min 200 BESS, while with the japanese water stone - I can go below 100 BESS. The water stone can be purchased from fine-tools (dot) com / Tormek.html

Awesome but no tools
Probably the best quality you can get for the price but it would have been nice if you could have chosen one tool holder for free as it doesn't come with any

No more blunt knifes!
Bought this for the kitchen I work in;This is one of the best things I have bought in a long time, a lot of our knifes are blunt, more like rulers at this point. I have spent from 5 mins to 10 mins for really bad knifes, all of these are shaving sharp, I fully endorse this for any pro kitchen that needs a quick system to sharpen. The leather wheel I feel will wear out quick but I will be buying the compound wheel that they have for the machine. The only thing I have noticed is when you are doing large chef knifes is the grinding wheel is in the way when you are honing the largest of knifes, but that's a easy fix I just remove the grinding wheel to get a full honing of these knifes.10/10 don't regret this at all.

tormek washer
hi i found that this is fine and good, it dose what it says on the tin , the down side is there is a nylon washer on the shaft and this over time wheres out of round.witch in turn sends the grining wheel out of round. it takes a lot to bring it back to round and the nilon washer will set you back £4.00at that price you would think a spear washer would be with this . other than that its a very fine tool .

Expensive. But very good at what it does.
The only downside with this machine is the price. It’s a solid piece of kit and my chisels and planes have never been so sharp.

Perfect for Grinding Woodturning Gouges and Chisels
Perfect for shaping and sharpening woodturning gouges and chisels and the watercooled grindstone alleviates heat buildup in the metal. Great product! Thoroughly recommend.

Simply the best - accept no substitute!
It’s all true. These really are the best wet stone sharpening machines, even supplied with some plasters ready for when you cut yourself. It used to take me a couple of hours to sharpen all my chisels and plane blades but this can now be done in around 20 minutes to very nearly the same level of sharpness - distinct lack of hair on my arms to show for it !I know they are more expensive than the others but do it - you won’t regret it.
