Functions well, clear display, but.....
The unit is easy to set up and functions very efficiently. Be sure to insert the batteries in the outdoor transmitter first, not the base unit, or you will get no outdoor readings! Allow a few hours for the radio controlled time to connect, or set the time initially yourself. The signal comes from Frankfurt between 2am and 6am Frankfurt time. Set the unit to display minus one hour for GMT in winter. The display is very bold and clear, and the units are solidly built. The weather "prediction" pictures are basic. Figures are very close to other thermometers I have, so are presumably fairly accurate.edit NOTE: DON'T BUY OR TRY TO USE TWO with a transmitting frequency of 868MHz. See below.I have tried it in my aluminium framed greenhouse about thirty meters form the base station, so the signal is strong through two walls.I ordered this model because it permanently displays maximum and minimum temperatures indoor and out. I should have looked more closely and read ALL the reviews on Amazon. Whereas the ongoing readings are pitched in divisions of 0.1 deg C, the max/min are not. They are only in whole degrees. Worse, if that actual maximum is 13.1 deg C, the max shown will be 14 deg C, not 13, and if the minimum is actually 3.9 deg C, it will record a minimum of 3 deg C rather than 4. Unlike many other models which show full details to the nearest 0.1 deg C on max/min by pressing buttons, this is not available on this model. Resetting the max/min data is easy and all are done in one operation. For this reason, what should have been 5 stars becomes 3.5 (but I can't do that and don't think it's quite worth 4).Let's hope it lasts years. Price quite good at around £23 on Amazon - if it's what you want - go ahead.edit 18 Jan 2104: I have just upped my star rating to four, because after six weeks the weather station is still functioning perfectly (within the parameters I describe above).edit: 5 December 2014 The unit still works OK. However, there is a new problem. I have bought another weather station for my second green house. The new TFA unit also uses 868 MHz and they both grab the stronger of the two signals and show the same data AND I DON'T KNOW FROM WHICH TRANSMITTER, so I can't use them both. There is no way on either weather station to change the wavelength or channel.

31/3/2015 - Colder outside than I'd thought.
This replaces a Silvercrest as it finally gave up the ghost after years of faithful service. I'd lasted 3 months without it and decided a replacement was needed. It (this weather station) is virtually idiot proof to set up and was up and running in less than 10 minutes of coming out of the box. The indoor out outdoor temperature settings were displayed almost immediately. I've always liked to know what to expect outside before venturing forth. Unlike the Silveline it does not have a humidity reading or date but those were not really necessary anyway. Whilst only having three weather predictions (sunny, cloudy with a bit of sun and rain) it is considered more than adequate, for me anyway as you are also provided with arrows informing you of what is likely to come. In any event it cannot be any worse than the BBC weather forecasting can it? I note that at least one reviewer thought a snow/ice display would be useful, but to me if it is less than approx 3deg C it is pretty obvious anyway. The jury is still out on why you need to know the ongoing maximum/minimum temperatures (both indoors and out) though. Answers on a postcard..... Probably me being pedantic but a 12hr clock facility would have been nice but as they say you can never have it all. The readings/display are far bigger though which more than makes up for these 'shortcomings'. Bit of a tip if you live in the UK - set the clock for -1. All in all very pleased and if it lasts as long as the outgoing one did it will prove to be excellent value, we'll see?

Simple to use, easy to set up, good value for money.
My old weather station lasted for over 10 years and I was lost when it gave up the ghost on me. I looked for a similar one, but weather stations have progressed so much over the years. I just wanted one with simple information, easy to read and one that was able to be reset. Ordered it on behalf of my parents as a gift for me for Christmas, as they don't have access to the internet. It does exactly what it said in the description, was simple to set up (took approximately 30 seconds to pick up the information) and gives me all the information I need. I live out in the country and the temperature is always much lower than what they say it is going to be on the weather forecast. I wonder if it will last for the same length of time as my old one? So far, it is proving to be good value for money.

Great value and easy to read but is it accurate?
Easy to read screen, simple to set up IF you read the instructions and cheap. I'm not totally impressed though. I found the sensor and main unit disagreed by 1 degree or so when placed side by side. The outdoor sensor is consistently 1-2 degrees higher than the base unit. When compared to another model I have, the outdoor sensor is a degree or so higher. Get that right and you would have an excellent simple station. However, when you don't trust the temperature it gives it kinda defeats its purpose.

Very easy to read, uncomplicated
Very easy to set up and very useful. Good size info on the screen and good straight forward product. Nice to have min and max temperatures constantly on view and easy to reset them. Very happy with purchase

Failed after 15 months - ggrrr!
This is a great little device and we have used it for a total of 60 nights when holidaying in our touring caravan. It has now failed - the external temperature isn't being transmitted to the base. I have contacted the company in Germany. They say return it to Amazon....I'll keep looking but haven't found out how to do that yet. I'd have hoped for more support from the manufacturer. A very expensive mistake!! I will update this review if I get a better response from the company or from Amazon.UPDATE - I remain unhappy with the manufacturer’s response, but Amazon came through - I contacted customer services via chat and they agreed a full refund immediately. I’ll be buying a different model with the money!
