Total Skincare Hero – A Little Pot of Magic!
This cream is honestly a miracle worker. I use it for everything, cuts, grazes, spots, irritation, insect bits you name it. It’s soothing, healing, and completely natural, which makes me feel good about using it.It’s one of those products you’ll want to keep in every room and bag. If you’re after a multipurpose balm that truly delivers, this is it.

Very soothing for stubborn perioral dermatitis!
A very soothing cream, a must have around for healing skin. I discovered calendula cream to treat my perioral dermatitis which I had for over 12 months!!. I tried almost everything my GP had prescribed. In the end my skin did clear up with help of antibiotics and the calendula simply soothed the healing. I still use it now for cuts and healing broken skin, a small jar goes a long way.

TSW
I am now into my second week of being steroid free on my TSW journey, and I've been using this balm on my entire body (twice, daily - including face and scalp) for the past 4 days (30ml jar). - Just purchased the big 120ml jar!The balm helps to lock in moisture to my skin - which gives me relief, and helps me to move around with more ease - as I am shedding heck loads of skin, and my skin is hard, dry and tight. I was hesitant at first, but it's perfectly fine to use on face. Also, I have long hair, but the texture of the balm is so soft and smooth - it's actually quite easy to apply on my entire scalp full of thick long hair - and has reduced flakiness and itchiness.I tried another zinc based product before this, but it wasn't fragrance free - which caused me to be rather irritable.Yes, the balm leaves a white cast on the skin - but that's to be expected with effective zinc products. Not a problem, if you're staying indoors. However, I won't be applying this to my face and hands whilst outdoors.Yet to try its protective barrier for effectiveness in the bath/shower.All in all, I'm happy I've found at least one product to help me as I go through these horrific withdrawals - as my condition is quite severe, and this product right here has helped so much in just 4 days!

Soothed my perioral dermatitis very quickly
I've had (self diagnosed) perioiral dermatitis on and off for a few years now. Usually I stop using any products at all and it dries out and disappears within a few days. This time I've had it pretty much constantly since October - possibly due to having covid, and hormone related after having a baby. Nothing was working and if anything it was getting worse, which was so depressing.I bought this on a whim and a couple of days in and fingers crossed it seems so much better! I wash my face, leave it for awhile (not sure why but i read this on other reviews) then apply on the areas that are sore. It feels so soothed once it's put on, and my redness has reduced massively. It looks quite dry and flaky but i usually find this when its getting better. Still got a way to go but it's so much better than it was, fingers crossed it continues.Small pot but you use barely anything so it will last a very long time.

Started well, but soon stopped working
I bought this product on the back of lots of positive reviews, which these days is quite risky, but it has turned out to be the right move.I have a couple of patches of (what i self-diagnosed as) Seb Derm on my cheeks, either side of my nose. As with these sorts of conditions, you spend ages on the internet looking for various solutions to the problem and end up going round in circles. At first i had been washing my face with a dead sea salt / water solution but it's relatively expensive, messy and doesn't work 100%. It never really brought a balanced feeling to my face, and while it cleared up 80%+ of the problem, there was still some redness and soreness. Eventually it seemed to slowly stop working.Next I tried head & shoulders shampoo - each day i would rub a pea-sized amount into the affected areas, let it sit for 2 minutes then wash it off. This worked very well for about 18 months, and one bottle would last a year, so a cheap solution. However that shampoo is full of loads of things that aren't really meant for the sensitive skin of your face, and eventually it stopped working so i stopped using it. I think the only good thing in the shampoo for seb derm is the zinc oxide, so that set me on a path to find a new product with zinc oxide, which is what takes me to this Zinc & Calendula cream.I simply followed the instructions that other reviewers left - i.e. wash your face, and a bit later add some of this Zinc & Calendula cream to the affected area, using as little as possible. Because there's so much zinc oxide you really don't need to use much - it's quite thick/dense. I've been trying to use as little as possible and only once a day. So shower in the evenings, wait a bit, then apply. I found there was fairly instant relief from the soreness sensation, and as each day passed the visual redness gradually disappeared. I probably looked a bit horrendous for the first couple of days where the skin was healing; i had a mixture of flaky, peeling skin and the cream mixed together, but i always got the feeling it was working so i'd have to just live with it for a short period.I'm now 7 days in and my face is 100% back to normal in terms of visual appearance and feeling. Of course the ultimate test would be to stop using this for a week and see if the condition returns, as anytime i stopped using the shampoo, i would have red sore skin within 2 days. So i won't claim this has permanently fixed my face, as i don't know for sure, but it feels so much better than both of the previous solutions.Seb derm is an excess of oil production and the zinc oxide helps deal with that, perhaps the other elements of this cream will help my face naturally fix itself from within so i can stop using it, but even if that doesn't happen, you need to use so little of this product that it'll last an age.As for what triggered the condition - i don't really know 100% either, but i would definitely advise against using any kind of alcohol based products on your face. For me it was suncreams like P20 and Ultrasun - as effective as they are, alcohol is too strong and drying for my sensitive face. I think the dryness triggers the oil production and that's where the condition begins. There are suncreams out there with zinc oxide as the base (i use ThinkSport), again they're quite thick but you just have to rub them in.My personal view is that once the skin is disrupted and damaged, it won't fix itself without some kind of intervention like this cream, but where as the dead sea salt and shampoo solutions treated the symptoms, i'm hoping by using the cream for long enough it will fix the root cause. I do not think that diet is related either, i've tried dairy-free / gluten-free / low sugar etc for sizable periods and it didn't help - it actually made me more stressed from cutting foods out. I exercise frequently and eat well, and while that helps with many things, seb derm seems too specific an issue for that alone to help resolve it.Update Nov 2019It seems to have stopped working.I’m back on the head and shoulders routine and balancing the dryness that brings with a light moisturiser. There’s a website called simpleskincarescience that has a wealth of information on this skin condition.
