Likes:> Cheap to run - The mains meter is barely registering this unit's current draw even on the highest setting.> Effective - I recently moved into a 4 bedroom bungalow in Cornwall. Black mould was appearing on the internal walls and condensation was present internally on the windows each morning. I was using a Karcher to clear the condensation and put humidity sensors in each room. These were averaging 60 - 70% RH with the windows closed. The dehumidifier is placed in a central hallway on the lowest fan setting and has brought the whole property down to 40 - 50% RH.> Powerful - The high setting for clothes drying negates using the tumble dryer.Niggles:> Water receptacle - Other reviews have complained that the water receptacle is difficult to extract when full and cannot be set down due to its uneven base. They are not wrong. I empty it daily down the bath to avoid handling it when full and having to set it down.> Water receptacle viewing window - Other reviews have complained that it is difficult to see the water level. It is a narrow verticle viewing slot about 1cm wide. The level is visible under decent lighting but ineffective if in shadow.> Noise level - Even at the lowest fan setting the dehumidifier sounds similar to an AC unit running. It is fine a couple of rooms away but would probably be a disturbance if on a bedroom landing.> HEPA filters - Available for other models in the Meaco range but not their flagship device. There is an ionisation feature but the jury seems to be out on whether this can be harmful.Summary:I was contemplating getting a mould buster positive airflow unit fitted but thought that I would try a dehumidifier first as it was a cheaper non-permanent option and I'm glad that I did. I am so pleased with dehumidifying ability of this unit that I would overlook the minor design flaws and would definitely purchase the unit again. I have only been using it for a week though so can't comment on the unit longevity.

This solid-looking dehumidifier arrived today and is now running in my conservatory, where we have been troubled by mould on the walls. According to its damp meter, we don't have much of a problem and I have left it in automatic setting, which will turn right down when the humidity goes down to 45%. It has a laundry setting which can remove extra humidity when washing is drying indoors, while at the same time helping to dry the laundry. This is a powerful machine which can help dry out quite a large area. It seems impressive so far and I am very pleased with . It was quite easy to work out how to set and control it. When the water tank is full, a bleeper goes off and the machine switches itself off, a good safety measure. It also switches off if it becomes overheated. Although on the large side, it looks neat and streamlined in the room and, so far, seems effective. After quite a short time, less than half an hour, the humidity in the conservatory had reduced from 51% to 49%.2/2/18 Still delighted with this dehumidifier. We get a problem with condensation and humidity in our 83 year old bungalow and humidity has been reduced from 83% to a much more acceptable level around 45%. It is quiet and efficient and it takes a couple of days before the water tank is full.

This product has been worth every penny! Since we have used it we no longer have a condensation or mould problem. It is very simple to use, there is a mode for being on generally, a drying washing mode which really works and dries washing on an airer that would normally add to the condensation problem! Our washing would usually have dried over 2 days and this works over a few hours, brilliant. There is also a night mode which is quieter. There is a water level indicator on front of machine and you can see when getting full. It's easy to pull the 'drawer' out to empty. If it gets full and you haven't noticed or it was overnight then it will switch itself off! Very impressed! This is first time we have had a dehumidifier.

This is a great dehumidifier, it works well and it removed more moisture than I thought possible. It is simple to use and it works as required, no fuss and no complicated instructions. Full marks also to the customer service team who were very quick to deal with a small problem of my own making. Well worth five stars.

A little larger than expected, not very portable but can be moved as is on castors. Good large tank which is covered with a handle to help stop spills but has to be removed cearfuly & position of grip to remove tank is at bottom of machine which makes it a little awkward and would be better to be placed at sides of tank. Emptying is a little messy so do it slow as it tends to spill. Noise level is acceptable, it’s quieter than some others I’ve had in the past, if yours is noisy is to make sure it’s balanced and level floor as this can effect the noise!The dehumidifier function is very effective, it collects 5 litres of water daily in my house and has kept humidity down to 50% so far.I’ve not used this machine to dry clothes yet which is one of the machines super powers!Settings are easy to use, as someone else mentioned you have to cycle through the menu to choose a function so this could be improved. There is no backlight on the LCD which would also be a nice feature to include.Overall, the machine performs efficiently, collects moisture and keeps humidity down. It appears sturdy and has decent functions. As for value for money, well there are cheaper machines out there, it’s awkward to see these machines and test them out prior to purchase but having had different makes before I would recommend this one. But if you want something more discreet, then this one is not for you!I’m happy with my purchase!
