Great price for a great product
The Plaskool Star Wars Galactic / Galaxy Heroes range are great and robust figures / playsets for 3-8 year olds and my 6 year old still loves them. I was running out of affordable spaceship / playset options for this Christmas (Boba Fetts ship even 2nd hand is £100 plus etc). and found this at a good £15 to £40 cheaper than most other BB8 playset rivals. Its a Christmas present so yet to be fully tested but appears good so far and the sounds are good and it is a lot bigger than the millennium falcon and overall bigger than the AT-AT / AT-ST Walkers that have been well used so far.Warning - get your figures 2nd hand off various site like this one especially if starting off and you can risk not getting duplicates you can get 10 figures for approx. £20 and due to the robust nature of them, unless the kids been hacking at them or colouring them in etc.. they are in great condition and at that price if one or two need throwing its still better than the RRP of circa £7.50 or £15 for duo packs currently in the shops.

Impressive looking toy that works best with other sets
My daughter had quite a collection of Galactic Heroes Star Wars toys. They tend to be medium figures or busts of popular characters which open up to reveal a small play set. The Millennium Falcon was quite a large set, but this BB-8 is the largest.BB-8 opens up and then you can attach the various plastic platforms and steps to use your Star Wars Galactic Heroes figures with. once set up it can be fun when used in conjunction with other sets, but on its own the play value can be a bit limited. When this isn't open, it actually looks pretty cool as a display piece. the rear is flat to it can sit on a shelf quite easily and be pushed against a wall without any real risk of falling over. the lights and sounds look and sound impressive enough to make any Star Wars fan smile! It's pretty well detailed too, so it makes a decent display piece.I can't help but feel that some of the smaller playsets and the Millennium Falcon offer better play sets than this. It can also be very fiddly to put away and close back up once open, this might lead to some frustrating forcing of the product to close - and this is one area you don't want to use The Force! The plastic parts are not flimsy, but they are also not designed to withstand much abuse either. In a nutshell: the Star Wars busts in the same range seem like better playsets than this, if you have other playsets then this will be a great to use along side them - but it's not superb on its own. it does however, look amazing as a display piece.

Brilliant, quality Star Wars playskool toy.
Absolutely brilliant. Lots of features beyond what Amazon description describes. Is platform folds away neatly to the back for storage and can be attached in several places. Makes noises, and lights flash on the screens. Sturdy and robust but a wee bit trick to click together but a brilliant purchase at £45 for a really playable starwars toy.

Lovely toy but needs more characters.
This is a really interesting Star Wars toy. Very intricate with lots of moving parts and two characters - lots of scope for the imagination. The individual pieces are quite small and I think really this toy is a bit fiddly for a small child. They will quickly lose or break some of the smaller pieces. My 8 year old grandson loves it and is old enough to take proper care of it. I have to say, though, that it needs to have more characters to help populate the stories that children develop as they play. This is not a toy that can have teddy or action man take the place of the characters - they won't fit! It is quite expensive for what you get and for that price could have included more characters.

Large and fun but overpriced
This is a huge BB-8 playset which opens out to reveal an "adventure base". Within the base you get several platforms, some turnstiles, a weapons launcher and two figures (Rey and a smaller BB-8). You also get sound and light effects. This set certainly looks impressive at first because of its size. The moving parts, weapons launcher and sound buttons are all good for creative play. However providing only two figures at this price is a bit stingy - they could at least provide a Stormtrooper so kids had someone to defend the base against. Plus, the plastic set is not as intricate as it appears at first, and much of it seems cheaply made, such as the windows and screens that are actually just stickers and were starting to ripple and peel on my set. And the sound effects are quite basic (and really loud and annoying!)Kids will love this set because of its size and its theme, but for the price I was expecting something better made and more intricate.
